Summit SUP-915 Premium Railing Roof Bar for Cars with Raised Running Rails, Aluminium, Set of 2, Silver

I bought these rails to fit a roofbox to a Skoda Kodiaq. They are really good quality and the fit and finish is of a high standard. It took about 20 minutes to size and fit to the roofrails of my Skoda kodiaq. A short drive in our home village to bed down - all good with no noise or rattles!However, I followed the Ikea style 'visual instructions' for soundproofing by cutting short pieces of the rubber gasket to fit into the guide rail under the roofbar, either side of each mounting bracket. This was my interpretation of the visual instructions, and I thought they pieces of rubber gasket woud stop any rattling between the roofbar and the bracket. When we go on the motorway the roofbars started to whistler above 65mph. We couldn;t turn back so just had to travel a little slower (or endure death stares from my wife).I realise now that you need to fill the entire guide rail under the roofbar with the rubber gasket to stop the wind catching the lip and making the bar whistle / resonate. For now the guide rail space is covered with duct tape which does the job. I just wish I had thought about it more when I fitted the bars, or the instructions had been a bit clearer.

These are good for a cheaper option but I find them a bit cumbersome to put on and off as you have to tighten the screws on all 4 points. This can be a pain if you need to shift them forward or back to align with roofbox or bike rack attachment points. I've borrowed a family members set and they have a ratchet type mechanism which is faster. Perhaps I will get faster with practice. Once on they are sturdy and not too noisy if you fit the rubber strip underneath. Then there is the cheap locking mechanism, I don't put much trust in it but like most locks these days it's more as a deterrent.

Make sure you fit the seals though otherwise the whistling is painful!

I bought these after originally buying a set from eurocarpats called streetwise i think i returned them quickly absolutely rubbish, these are a million times better very strong and sturdy

Once on they are good.just not so easy to assemble by yourself

Generally bars good quality and have worked well. Only issue are the plastic caps that fit onto end of bars are poor quality and fall off. Otherwise pleased

Good quality product for the price, fitting is really easy just don't forget to fit the rubber strip before you fully fit to the car it's still possible just more awkward.

This product arrived on time but it was obviously a seconds as the box had been previously ripped open and one of the cross bars had a dent in it which I would presume alter the structural integrity of the item and the were no locks or alum key as shown in description not happy and sent straight back for replacement I will update if the item is what it states it is but I paid full price for something that had been used I am now awaiting being messed about to get the replacement
