Love the colour!
I'm really impressed with the colour I ended up with! 😍💜 I've used different blues before, first time with Purple and this one seems to transfer less, may be as it's now been my 4th time dying my hair, but I love all of Directions dyes, they're so kind to my hair, it still remains so soft! 😊 I last dyed my hair in Feb too, and it was only as I was going on holiday I topped it up early, normally it lasts at least 6 months, the darker the colour the longer it lasts though. So I'm sure this will last at least 6 months too! 😁

Easy to apply and bright colour, but…
(Dyed on pre-lightened highlighted hair. Cerise colour was used)It does stain everything it touches. Like with most direct dyes, you need to ensure you cover yourself and wipe drops of dye quickly to avoid staining. (However if it does happen around your bathroom, bleach does the trick with getting them off). It was my own mistake not to wear gloves when washing the dye off (so I’m not knocking off a star for my own silliness) so make sure to wear gloves during the whole process! The smell of the dye wasn’t unpleasant. As this dye is semi permanent, I’m not expecting it to last longer than a couple weeks. But I will try and leave an update and to how long this dye has lasted. (I normally wash my hair twice a week, with dry shampoo in between)

Flamingo pink
After attempts of getting my Directions blue out I decided to use the Flamingo Pink. It's the first time I followed the instructions, shampooing first and applying to towel dried hair. It covered amazingly and the colour is much more vibrant than I expected with the colour I have underneath. Very happy with the colour :)

Lovely and bright to start with
The media could not be loaded. Well it defiantly does what it says on the package. My hair was bright and felt smooth.Although after a few washes it has started to fade. As I like my hair bright this is going to have to be dyed again in a weeks time, as it doesn’t hold the colour for that long! The picture shows my hair after two washes

Good staying power, very vivid.
As an elder millennial with goth tendencies, I've been using various Directions colours for decades. They're much easier to use than many other brands and types of dye, and perfect for blending. The colours as advertised are a food indication of the end result (when bleach/lighter hair is involved). This is one of my favourite shades - currently blended into Tangerine, Neon Red and Dark Tulip (on a base of ginger and peroxide). The result is vibrant, and even after multiple showers and hair washes (sometimes twice-daily in this heat) the colour is still vivid after a couple of weeks.

Great colour but doesn’t last long
These dyes are honestly SO GOOD but only for a short period of time! I dyed my hair blue a few years back using these dyes and it never ever washed out. I tried violet & lilac this time and it washed out really quick. After 2 weeks it’s now a pale bluey lilac colour (photo 2).

Conditioning - Some Awesome Colours
I've tried a few of these Directions semi-permanent dyes on un-bleached hair now and have had mixed results. However, I do love the ones that have worked and have uploaded photos of the best ones. I shall describe each one seperately - all of which were left for around 30mins after being fully applied.I was looking to try some semi-permanent dyes but was unwilling to bleach my hair as I never have and don't want to damage my hair too much. The first photo I uploaded is roughly what my hair was like when I first used these dyes. My natural medium brown hair had grown through and left over highlights towards the bottom had turned quite light. They were more towards the very end of my hair when I dyed it though, rather than the majority of it like in the photo. The length is about the same.I first tried the lagoon blue which just gave my hair a slight green tinge (more visible on the light ends). As it wasn't very noticeable I haven't uploaded a picture of this one. This was the colour that had the most noticeable transference onto clothes and my bed pillow. I used one pot for the whole of my head as it seemed to cover well. I then used the second pot after only a couple of days and one wash to see if it made it brighter but there was minimal difference.I then tried Midnight Blue not long after (the third picture I uploaded). This showed up a lot more than the lagoon blue, and I quite liked it. On the left is the colour in artificial light and on the right is colour in natural light. It turned out sort of like turquoise on my hair, however my brother was nice enough to say it looked grey... It faded to more of a brown with a greenish hint again after a few washes. This also left some transference on my pillow but wasn't as bad as the Lagoon Blue. This colour was obtained with just one pot and I still have one pot left over.I tried to wait until the colour had completely faded before applying the Dark Tulip, but there was definitely still some green in the tips. However the Dark Tulip dye (second photo I uploaded) came out as a very nice (in my opinion) purple colour. Again, the left is in artificial light and the right is in natural light. It faded to nothing within a few weeks but I was very pleased with the colour obtained whilst it lasted and I intend to use the second pot soon. This one seemed to stain skin more (but I know reds often do) but I actually noticed little transference at all onto my pillows and clothes.Next up was the Tangerine colour. My hair seemed to soak up the first pot so I applied the second pot in the same sitting and after washing there was minimal difference. The ends of my hair certainly had a more copperish tinge but seeing as I had that anyway, it wasn't something anyone noticed. This was therefore the most disappointing, but I suppose it is to be expected when putting a light colour designed for bleached hair onto medium brown. Finally, I tried Rubine. This turned out a lovely reddish colour (the last photo uploaded). Both photos are in natural light but the one on the left was on a grey day and was the same day it had been dyed. The one on the right is on a sunny day and was after being washed once and half-heartedly straightened. This one also completely faded quickly (around 4 washes), but also no noticeable transference to other things. This was one pots worth of dye so I have one left and have recently used just under half to 'dip dye' the lower part of my hair. All of these dyes are conditioning and have left my hair feeling rather soft - I imagine you could leave it on for however long you want but 30mins was more than enough for the ones that actually worked for me. I can imagine the best results are definitely achieved on pre-lightened and bleached hair but this shows that some still can work quite successfully on natural hair.

Gorgeous colour, not long lasting.
I used this colour on bleached hair. It had been bleached three times within one week (NOT recommended) and was a very pale blonde, also white in some places. The colour payoff was not very strong considering I'd left it on for 45 minutes but it did look very pretty as I'd also used Rebel Colour in 'Silver Storm' on my roots and through some of the length. The colour in the tub is a very dark purple but beware that it does not show up this dark on the hair. It is an extremely pale colour and will wash out very quickly.I'd recommend leaving on dry hair for 45 minutes to 1 full hour for maximum colour payoff. Use cool water and a colour protect shampoo.Very beautiful colour if you can be bothered maintaining it!
