1000 Fun Facts for Immature Adults: Random Trivia and Weird Truths You Should Know Vol. 1

A Funny and very fun book to read yourself and some facts with kids
So I started reading the book on my leisure time randomly here and there when I had time. Suddenly when a part intrigued me such as when it touched upon dinosaur facts like T-Rexes do Eskimo kisses with each other or how a group of Flamingoes is a Flamboyance which definitely had me chuckle a bit.I gotta admit that the best thing the author does is seamlessly go from one topic to another an example is learning that Dragon Bamboo is the tallest grass but from there they go into speaking about Burmese Bamboo is fastest growing then transitions to how Sunflowers grow to 30 feet and then it goes into facts about the sunflower's seeds . These quick facts that transition to the next new fact kept me wanting to read more and that is a great thing for the reader to want to read more !There are some drawing of I guess the books mascot which is a Donkey and the little illustrations and quirky humor that follow them are funny and hilarious such as the Author stating he loves Nature but that's why they live in the city . A quick joke here and there is great considering the plethora of information you are being handed.Though the book remains interesting from animals , plants, history , and space facts I will say the least interesting to me is the pop culture section though it did bring up the Eminem rap he did about oranges and that again made me chuckle considering I do recall that fact but its a cool thing to see within the book. Speaking of interesting , though it says for immature adults some facts really drew in the eye of my kid as I was spoke out loud some of the facts about dinosaurs and space as he is very interested in those topics , obviously some of the facts should not be read to or with children as they wont get the concepts but the other ones can interest younger readers and thats always a good thing. The book is great in general , from reading it I actually learned some crazy facts that I would have never have known of and if even kids can find some cool things for them to talk about later in school then that makes it even better. On anywhere you can access kindle this is great especially on long train rides or maybe providing some hilarious facts during a road trip.Great work!

1000 Facts You Didn't Know That You Need to Know
I will preface this review by stating I'm basing this review off an advanced copy. There are many great tomes that have been written throughout the history of mankind. The works of Shakespeare. Shel Silverstein. Alan Able. Now you can add Bryan Spektor to that list.1000 Fun Facts For Immature Adults is simply that. 1000 fun facts over a variety of topics that may seem informative, questionable, and/or humorous all at the same time. The facts presented within are similar to those found in the Uncle John's Bathroom Reader series of books at the bottom of each page. What separates this book from that series is that the facts have been categorized into ten chapters for your reading pleasure, with the last chapter being random facts that don't fit into the other nine categories/chapters.With a book like this, the reader has the option of either reading the book straight through (as I did), or picking a random chapter/page and consuming the facts presented. With the book set up as it is, the facts are presented in an order that leads to the next fact. Sort of as an outline, if you will. So maybe just picking a random page and going may not be the best option. Also while the book is a short read (190+ pages, not counting the Conclusion, Reference Section, and Bonus Content), one should be entertained by its contents.Avid readers of the Uncle John's Bathroom Reader series of books may recognize some of the information within this book, but having only read five books in that series (one of which was a "Greatest Hits" if you will), a lot of the quick tidbits in this book I found to be informative, entertaining, and a couple of them had me rolling in laughter. If you're a fan of outrageous, off-the-wall, and obscure information/trivia that you could use for your next social gathering, then definitely pick this book up! I have since purchased the digital copy for my Kindle library, and will be purchasing a physical copy as well. Thank you Brian Spektor for this book, and I look forward to your further offerings in the future.

This is definitely my kind of book
I love easy reads that teach me something new while making me laugh (or at least groan). In this book Bryan Spektor gives a ton of bite-sized tidbits about just about everything under the sun with a quirky dad-joke sense of humor. I found myself just scrolling to random pages at first, and always found something so interesting I had to learn more (if you're reading a hard copy make sure to keep your phone nearby for some Google-Fu). If you're a fan of Uncle John's Bathroom Reader series, Mad Magazine's books of random facts, the Ripley's Believe It Or Not comics strip, or just those old strange-but-true style paperbacks you'd find at the Scholastic book fair at school you definitely should pick this one up.Now, if you'll excuse me, indeed to finish filling a second swimming pool with my spit.

The perfect resource for gaining marginally useful galactic information!
Great compilation of useful and funny facts from all areas of life! Who doesn't want to know about the strongest female tongues? They could be a VP someday!! I personally liked the use of "tongue in cheek" humor throughout the book! It's one thing to amass factoids....another to actually take it all seriously! This is the perfect bathroom meditation material...Start and stop anywhere, and never lose the plot!!I highly recommend this book...it is perfect as a gift for someone that you have no ideas for at all! They will love it! The illustrations throughout the book are also creative and entertaining....a great combination! I picked a couple of snips that I liked......the Truman syndrome....who in Hollywood doesn't have this?? I hope you enjoy as much as I did!
