Mooer MCS2 Yellow Compression Effects Pedal

I wasn't a fan of the squishy dynacomp sound. This is great for fattening the tone and gently evening the dynamics. This makes my clean sound so much more alive without overly colouring it (unless I want it to).

I’ve been suffering from a really loud noise floor for ages and so slowly swaping out any pedals that were adding even a little noise. My Akai compressor was the last off and someone recommended the Yellow as very low noise. I wasn’t disappointed when I plugged this in tonight. All compressors add a little bit but I was very happy that this pedal is extremely quiet behind dirt pedals even in comparison to a Keely I tried earlier this week. So how my board is turning into a mainly Mooer board. This company really stands out for me against other low cost pedal gear companies in my opinion.

Really can't believe how good this is for the money. Definitely a subtle compressor, but very nice if you're after something like this. It really starts to shine around the 3/4 mark. There's some noise, but it's nothing beyond what you'd expect from most compressors, and you could spend over twice as much and not get anything much better.

my son picked it for a Christmas present and said it was fab.

This sounds great on my acoustic guitar. Best £50 I think I could've spent, sound-wise. Should've done it sooner!

Meant to be a Diamond comp clone. Doesn't have the same magic. It's OK as a comp, no more than that

Transparent and musical, not noisy. Simple and effective, I love it!

I am extremely impressed by this optical compressor. It is smooth sounding, very natural. It provides a nice even sustain, and is very transparent - there is no 'quack' associated with the compression, even at high compression settings. It's quiet and has superb signal integrity - I basically have it at the front of my pedal chain, and it is an "on all the time" effect. The EQ is useful and subtle, but most of the time I just have it set around 12 o'clock and it's clean as a whistle.I also own an empress compressor and a boss CS2, and this is actually my favorite of the 3. I love the fact I can get more gain and sustain from the input of my amp (JCM800) without it actually sounding squashed or compressed.I am a big fan of optical compression; I feel it's just more natural sounding than OTA based compression. This is a great little example of how optical compression should sound! For this price you cannot go wrong.

I have a lot of gain devices on my pedalboard chain, and I needed to reduce the harsh, squawky attack that I get with certain combinations. I installed this item just upstream from the volume pedal and POOF! Problem solved. I now leave it on full time. Excellent combination of transparency, performance and value. I just got another one for my acoustic guitar rig.
