One Piece (Uncut) Collection 10 (Episodes 230-252) [DVD]

One Piece at its best
All twenty-three episodes on this four disc set cover the majority of the Water 7 half of the Water 7/ Enies Lobby joint arcs. The plot of these episodes see the Straw Hats looking for a shipwright who could repair the Going Merry, and possibly join the crew. Things don't go as they expect however as politics, history, the government and internal strife cause trouble for the crew resulting in the darkest hour the Straw Hat Pirates have ever faced. As I said in the review of the previous Collection the Water 7 and Enies Lobby arcs are considered by many to be the best part of the entire series and this is something I would wholeheartedly agree with. The episodes in this Collection contain many great moments that are funny, exciting and emotional in equal measure. There are some great action scenes in this Collection with the battle against the Franky Family and the fight between Luffy and Franky himself are highlights but the battle in episode 236 has to be the best, and is possibly the saddest fight in the entire series. The episodes here also introduce a number of very interesting characters in terms of both design and personality with Franky and the secretive government agents of CP9 being the best of the bunch. The animation of the episodes in this Collection is as good as usual. There is a rather heavy reliance on flashbacks in some episodes due to the anime beginning to catch up on where the manga was at this point, but it is still far less than in future arcs. The English dub of the series remains of high quality with the voices of all the new characters introduced in this arc being very good. Alex Organ who voices Kaku, Shelley Calene-Black who voices Kalifa and David Wald who voices Paulie are particular standouts for the new cast but I must say that Christopher Corey Smith does an almost perfect job at voicing the idiotic Spandam. The only voice that I wasn't too sure about was Patrick Seitz's voice for Franky but I have grown to like it now that I have gotten used to it.For special features the Collection includes the usual clean versions of the opening and ending songs as well as four cast commentaries. There are also a couple of Behind the Scenes featurettes. This tenth collection of 'One Piece' is very good, showing the series at its best and is easily worth a full five stars

Not get regretting the financial burden of buying all the One Piece DVDs
If you're up to here in one piece you're here to stay. I'm watching one piece for the first time and boy am I enjoying this arc. There's no faults with the DVD or box, and it was sealed with cellophane.

Keeps 'em quiet
My partner is completely devoted to One Piece.....and is constantly harassing me to keep an eye out for upcoming DVD's. While I'm not an avid fan myself I do on occasion listen to it in the background. I have noticed a couple of words not suitable for a very young audience but it happens very rarely. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who loves pirates and adventures
