Needed new scales as my old ones had packed up just before Christmas. These looked similar so thought they would be perfect, wrong.Thank goodness there are only 2 of us living in the house now that use scales as I think I’d still be trying to get these things set up. My god was it a pain in the butt to do. Very fiddly, I wanted my own details set as person 1 but was totally unable to achieve this, it kept setting the wrong gender, age etc & no way to delete? I’ve finally had to settle with person 3. I thought at one point I might even run out of options all together. ! The instructions are far from clear.Having finally got all our details input we now have it working ok however when standing upright watching it go through the process of telling us the different readings it does so so fast we don’t have time & can’t see (symbols small) to work out what each one applies to BMI, water, bone etc... so basically we are left with just really reading our weights.Might as well have just got a standard scale for that.

Really disappointed with these scales. Initially they performed well and looked very smart in my bathroom. However, they stared to display random weights when no-one was stood on them and when someone did try to use them, it just displayed an error message. So after a good start, we are pretty disappointed. On looking at other reviews customers with faulty units should contact [email protected]. However, I found this email address simply bounced back. Now left with a faulty unit wondering how the 'Lifetime Guarantee' comes into effect.UPDATE: Empo have asked me to update this review to indicate that the original faulty unit has now been replaced with question or delay. I have therefore given the product another star to reflect their good service. I sincerely hope this set will last much longer and will update this review again in a few months.FURTHER UPDATE: Sept 2020. After my first set of scales became faulty within four months, I was sent a replacement unit. This lasted around 18 months before it to completely failed. There is no life in it at all and I would expect scales to last longer than that. No long Jevity at all. This is the second one of these I have bought. The first one stuck on 0.00 after 12 months of use. However as I like the product and am happy to pay the price for 12 months use I don't think it is bad. Other comments are that when weighing yourself in the bathroom without glasses on you cannot read the individual items ie: BMI, Fat content etc. I tend to read the figures and then check them with the instruction leaflet after. I do like the way these scales work though.

Easy to set up, all you do is weigh yourself and tell it your age, and it remembers you and tracks your readings. It gives body fat, water, bone and muscle percentage plus bmi, bmr and weight. It cycles through the readings twice to give you plenty of time to see them all and write them down. At first they were reliable, giving accurate readings, and for a few weeks I was very happy with them. But when I'd been using them for about five weeks, they started going beserk. I stood on them one morning and they said I was 4st 2lb, which I'm not (!), so I checked the battery, wiped the scales, even wiped my feet in case a bit of dog hair had got stuck there and affected the contact with the electrode panels on the scales. I got back on the scales, only a minute later, and it said 21st 8lb. After that I tried the scales a few more times, every time getting wildly different readings. I have not misused the scales and have followed the manual always, so it does look like they become unreliable after a short time. Thankfully amazon let me return them, so with my money back I bought better scales. I would recommend against buying these.

At first I thought these were great.Then after 2 months of using daily, during a new fitness regime, I noticed the readings were changing.The thing spits out so much info you don't tend to hang around but I took a couple of additional readings straight after each other and found weight changing by up to 1.2 kilo.I guess it's not hugely important, if you take just the first reading and be done with it for the day, but you'd like to think it was providing accurate info.

The scale is ok, it looks nice and has a lot of different measurements, however, I wasn't too happy with it because I was getting different measurements if I weighted myself after a few minutes. I guess it is due to how you place your feet on the metal plate but I need the scale to be accurate and give the same reading. Also, I couldn't work out how to choose the memorised person before getting on the scale and I had to bend over and scroll through P1 to P9 until I got to the one I wanted, but doing this may also alter the measurements.I returned the scale.This does not mean the product is bad, it is only my personal opinion and something for other buyers to consider.
