Perfect Fit for NA "Barn Door" Miata; Fixed Floppy Headlight
As expected, this Mazda OEM part fit perfectly. A few weeks ago I noticed that my passenger side headlight seemed to flicker as I went down a bumpy dirt road. At first I thought it was a loose connection, but discovered I could move the headlight door up and down about 3/8". Closer inspection revealed that one of the bushings on the headlight rod had deteriorated, creating play in the lower connection. Installation was straightforward: 1) Push the headlight button below the hazards to pop the lights, 2) remove the headlight shroud (four screws & pop loose), 3) use a large flat-tip screwdriver to pop loose the headlight rod ends and 4) snap the ends of the replacement rod onto the pivot knobs. The only real challenge is you have to squeeze fairly hard to pop on the replacement rod ends and clearance is tight.
