I see in instructions the first time you have to click the metal back and forth to activate, do I have to do that every time I use?

Yes, to activate, or use, the instants, the metal disc will need to be bent back and forth to llow the gel pack to heat up.

The gel packs are reusable over 150 times for heat. To reuse, the gel pack must be boiled in water for 3 minutes. The boiling resets the packet from crystal to liquid. Once cooled to room temperature, it is ready for reuse.

Question 2

I’m confused by the description. Are the instant packs activated by moving the disk back and forth for 150 or 300 uses? Or after the first use, boil?

Hello,
Thank you for your question! The instants are activated by bending the metal disc with the gel pack back and forth; they usually activate after the disc is bent back and forth about 5 times. The actual LIFESPAN of the instants are around 150 uses. The Kit comes with 2 sets of Instants so in total, 300 moist-heat compressions are available in the kit.

The instants solidify slightly after they cool down, so boiling the instants returns them to their liquid pliable state so the metal discs can be bent for the next treatment [after boiling they need to return back to room temperature so they are safe to handle].

How can you clean the goggles and the foam pads?

Hello!
Thank you for your question. Hand wash black foam inserts and white fabric pockets with mild soap and warm water after each use. Rinse well, squeeze out extra moisture and air dry in enclosed mesh bag. Wash plastic eye covers with foam attached in the same way, as needed. Foam (outer cushion and inner pad) should be replaced as needed.
