And now, for the actual “product description”…
– Make & materials:The adapter is made by XUANHUA, which is a fairly well established economy cable manufacturer. The short length of cable between the plug and the receptacle is also stamped “XUANHUA”. The jacket is PVC and the ends are some kind of rubbery material, likely also PVC. The molding quality is unremarkable (some flashing here and there), but is alright. The cable portion is stiff, appropriate for PVC, and will be stiffer still in the cold.– Electrical:My super expensive Temco generator extension cable fits very tight in the receptacle. The fit on the generator side is alright. Both blades on the plug are made of folded brass (you won’t find a ready made TT-30P cable on Amazon, or elsewhere, with solid and/or copper blades, more on that below). The X-Y sides of the L14-30R are bridged to the hot on TT-30P. This is likely what you want if you get this to run your existing generator cord to the house transfer switch (just don’t expect your 220V appliances to work - I saw a review elsewhere that complained they didn’t.)The cable is *not* UL-listed.Check the actual photos. To conclude:I liked the poison-green-pukey-orange color scheme - this one that won’t be hiding from you. The pullout handle is handy and much preferred to break-your-fingernails tabs. The overall quality is meh, which cost them a star. The fact that the seller is incapable of describing their own product cost them another. (I was thinking about docking one more for lying about the UL certification, but figured it’s the same basic incompetency and around here we ain’t subjecting folks to double jeopardy). If you are looking at this as a quickie solution to avoid buying another cable and plan to use intermittently - you found it. For the price, at the time of this writing $14, you won’t find anything better. On the other hand, if it’s for your primary and/or frequent use, might as well bite the bullet and get one of these: Journeyman-Pro NEMA TT-30P, 30 Amp, 125 Volt, 3-Prong Straight Blade Male RV Trailer Generator Plug Connector, Black Industrial Grade, Grounding 3750 Watts . It’s superior quality all around and naturally can be installed on a cable of your choosing.
