You're Already Amazing: Embracing Who You Are, Becoming All God Created You to Be

When Revell Publishing published it's list of books that would be available for review in March 2012, I was thrilled to see this selection. Having been a subscriber to (in)courage blog since it's inception, as well as a daily reader of Holley's blog, I knew I was in for a treat. "You're Already Amazing" by Holley Gerth was just the inspirational punch I needed to take a good look at my life, the gifts that God has blessed me with and how I am called to serve given the changing seasons of motherhood.This book walked me through some stuff that stands in my way everyday, namely FEAR, that rob me of confidence and that feeling of "yes, I can do this". Reading a new chapter each morning felt like I really was sitting across form Holley in a local coffee shop sharing all those deep dark places that rarely see the light. The things you only share with your BFF, then she runs around the table and hugs you telling you "Your already AMAZING so don't sweat it sister!!" I needed that these past few weeks.The best part of the book was the non-preaching tone. The whole purpose of the book is to be OK with who God made you to be and if your confused about who that is, there are questions and exersises to help clarify the direction God needs you to go. Some of us lead with our heads and some with our hearts. Holley uses her counseling background along with scripture to support each stumbling block we face as women, stopping us from becoming the women that God intends us to be. Even at the age of 44 I learned new things about myself and what I may be called to do with my gifts and skills.This book is a blessing no matter how old you are or where you are in your life journey. Holley reaches through the pages and encourages you to be the woman God meant you to be. That's worth reading again and again!

I am the leader of a bible study group of about 20 women (ages 20’s - 70’s) and we did this study this fall. This was our first encounter with Holley Gerth and her books, so when we completed this study I asked the ladies to evaluate it, and this is our result:• Overall rating on a scale of 1-10 (10 being best). One rated it 5, everyone else rated it 7 and up, but 15 rated it at 10 or better.• We thought the chapter book helped provide details and depth for each guidebook lesson, although there was some redundancy with some of the material.• Everyone liked the guidebook format, like the journaling, more life application suggestions, and especially the “Life Coach” section.• We all really enjoyed the videos because we got to meet the author, Holley. We loved that she was so personable, candid, relational, encouraging!This is a fantastic study for any age group of women who want to grow in their relationship with God by understanding His TRUTH, learning about who you are, God’s plan for your life, and discovering where and how you can serve in the Body of Christ/the Church. You will be amazed as you discover how amazing God made you!!

Good book to remind us of who we are in Christ!

Holly gets to the heart of the matter for women of all ages. We all struggle with self-image and feelings of unworthiness. She points out that these feelings and emotions are fed by lies from Satan who does not want us to fulfill the destinies that God envisions for us. If we can grab a hold of the simple truth that acceptance of Jesus's sacrifice for our sins makes us amazing in God's eyes.We can do all things through Him. We are made holy by His blood and death. We only have to walk out these truth in our daily lives. Holly gives us resources, scriptures, and a plan to take steps to live out the dreams God has for us.I recommend purchasing this book along with the LifeGrowth Guide and the "Your Already Amazing" DVD.I was not provided a copy of this book. Great book and am enjoying it a lot! The loss of a star is for the free "Printable Pages" that she offers in the first chapter of the (book has some workbook/self-reflection questions as well as study questions at the end) are no longer offered on her website (although her other books still have them). Instead, it has been replaced by a Study Guide for an additional $11 price. Because I am not the only family member reading this book, we did not want to write in the book and thought the printable pages would be great. However, the book itself is well-written with lots of good points and reminders about your worth and value .

Honest, uplifting, and centered on Bible verses. It reminds me that My Creator loves me no matter how much I get caught up in my worldly thoughts and take God for granted. Holley admits her fallacies and tells us all that we are amazing. Despite or maybe because of our brokenness we God's beloved.Before I purchased this book, a friend and I were sitting across from each other and I was in a particularly emotion place, she used Holley's phrase, "You are already amazing". I sat there stunned and wondered if my friend was already crazy. I didn't have a rebuttal. My tears dried up THAT DAY and I believe I am amazing. No "buts" or "if you only knew". Just a period.Read it and can "hear" Holley's insights. The book is a warm blanket on a blisterly cold day. Thank you!

Holley has done a fantastic job of covering a subject that really needs to be covered in contemporary Christianity. Too often we devalue ourselves as women or others fail to Simply quietly acknowledge the gifts God has given us. Holly covers a Godly way of looking at our worth in Christ and gives lots of practical suggestions for ways to understand our value and how we can add that value to other people because of what Christ has done for us through us and in us.

Reading this book with my ladies group. We're all getting so much from it and challenging each other every week. We read a chapter a week then do the questions for homework and a personal time of reflection. Just on chapter 4 but feeling so encouraged to break out of my shell already

This is a treasure of a book but it is not one that you can sit down and read in one sitting. It requires some thoughful response and one can only take so much at a time. I could have done with it about 25 years ago!! Now I find that much of the stuff in there I have already thought out, at my age, but on the other hand it is always useful to have a 'spring clean'! Do consider it - it is also one to give away to anyone whom you know who might be struggling with self-esteem issues or who has lost their way in life a bit. It is a very affirming book.
