Romans: Experiencing Peace Together in a Chaotic World (New Testament Everyday Bible Study Series)

This is the first book I have read by Scot McKnight and it certainly won't be the last.I have studied Romans extensively for the past 20 years. I have taught it in an adult Sunday-school class, in a prison and in an upper-level undergraduate classroom. I'm not an expert but I have been exposed to perspectives in this book I had never seen or considered before. Very impressive and highly recommended.

I've used lots of commentaries and Bible studys and I haven't encountered any as helpful as this series by Scot McKnight. They have been a lifeline for me as a pastor for own personal time studying scripture. They are both extremely accessible, and based on fresh insights about reading the NT from a Kingdom perspective. This book on Romans totally transformed how I've understood this book. One thing I really like about this series are the study questions provided at the end of each chapter. I seldom find study questions to be very helpful but that's not the case with this series. Another thing that I like are the way Scot breaks down the chapters. There is just the right amount of information and they are short enough that they work really well for lay people who aren't accustomed to reading books of this nature. I like this series so much that I will be using it for a series of Zoom Bible studys that I do with my congregation this Fall. I use them alongside of NT Wight's series and I like these the best.
