Great product

I normally don't post product reviews unless it's a bad one but I just had to write one for this product. Absolutely love it!! My dad gave me a can of this when I bought a very expensive pair of suede booties and I was hesitant at first to try it. He said it was very inexpensive, which usually makes me think it's not very good, but I was desperate so I gave it a try. I did a patch test, which I highly recommend to anyone buying this product, because you never know how it's going to affect your individual item. There's always a chance you got a defective can as well so definitely patch test!!! Once I came to the conclusion the spray was OK I took the shoes outside to spray them. When they say spray in a well ventilated area they really mean it! The suede will darken at first (you're spraying liquid on them) but within seconds it returns to the normal color. I waited 30-45 minutes for the first coat to dry and then did a second one. I sprayed very liberally as I wanted to make sure I got every inch of these shoes covered; make sure to get all the seams. I have not tested them out in heavy rain/snow but I did run some water over them to check and the water beaded off no problem. I would recommend this product to everyone I know!

It does protect the leather! I sprayed 2 pair of ankle boots, 1 pair of mid-calf boots, and one pair of suede sneakers exactly as the instruction, and the whole can was gone. It has some chemical smell, so I left the shoes under an open window overnight to let them fully dried. A few days later, it rained, I happily pulled out my boots and walked to work. Normally rain drops penetrate into the leather quickly, but that day I did notice that rain drops rolled on the surface of my boots but did not penetrate. At the end of the walk (about 15 min in total) I did notice some water penetrated; I estimate the protection is about 80-90% for the amount I sprayed. My feet were still dry at this point (usually I would feel a bit wet on my feet for this kind of rain).I have sweaty feet, so I worried about how well the shoes can breathe after I sprayed this product. Seems the breathing is less, but not to the extent to bother me.

Works great on suede and smooth leather

Dries quickly, protects suede shoes from rain and stains. I spray newly purchased suede wearables with this product. I’ve been using it for years.

This was a little leaky and was getting all over my hands as spraying, other than that it did the job.

I have a purse that stains if water soaks into the leather. I love the purse and couldn't return it anyway, so I decided to try Meltonian, with the hope that I could actually carry this purse around without it looking ugly and spotted. I sprayed 2 applications on the purse. I first noticed that it did not darken the leather at all (my purse is a lighter brown, cognac color). I decided to test it by putting some water on it, and to my surprise the water beaded up and I was able to wipe it away with no water stain. I have since dripped coffee on it and the same thing happened - I was able to wipe it away with no stain left on the leather. I just bought another can because I don't want to be without it. I plan to continue applying this to my purse periodically to keep the leather protected.
