HOZQ8-1492 Island Mist Strawberry Watermelon White Shiraz

All the Island Mist kids that I have tried have turned out fantastic! In fact, every Winexpert kit I have made has been wonderful. The Strawberry Watermelon is a summer favorite that I have made at least 5 times and will continue to brew, as all my friends request it.With the Island Mist kits, if you make them per the instructions, the finished ABV is only around 7%. To have an ABV more consistent with a wine (11%-12%) I always enhance the starting must with 3 cans of white grape juice concentrate (or grape for a red wine) and about 2 pounds of corn or cane sugar. They always come out great!

Starting SG 1.058 (added 2 cups cane sugar to primary), final SG .9990. Did 23liters according to instructions. The wine base tasted watery before the F pack. The alcohol ended up to be 8%. The F pack syrup smelled good and I had high hopes of a bolder taste when I sampled some of the Shiraz base rinsed out of the F pack bag. Made 30 bottles, no labels (usually use my own from address labels). Cleared nice with a light color. Overall I thought the finished wine tasted ok, thought it would be a bolder taste. My wife likes it but I was a little disappointed, I guess I need to wait for the bottle shock to wear off. Made this batch to drink cold on hot summer nights. I think I'll stick with my other Ontario wine kit suppliers for fruity wine kits.

Upon first taste you notice the strawberries, but as the wine lingers you get a taste of the watermelon.

this wine was spectacular for the summer, so light and refreshing, everyone loves it-wine snobs and those who order white zinfandel everywhere they go-i added extra sugar to increase the alcohol content, the color is fantastic, i will definitely order this next spring, now im making a cranberry pinot gris then a peach sauv blanc, then im done until winter boredom sets in.

Would not recommend buying flavor pack and kieselsol was both rock hard and unusable. Message amazon about it and they said can’t do a refund or a replacement since I’ve already started making the wine

Good flavor, low on alcohol

Very sweet. Good flavor. I use this one to give away to family and friends. Everyone’s favorite. Makes me look like a pro.

I bought this for my wife, because she prefers sweet wines. It is very sweet, but nice and flavorful also. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Does require basic home wine making equipment.
