This L-bracket is made out of a whole piece of thick metal. Very useful for any kind of applications. I particularly liked the 1/4mm drilled holes on the side wall, which actually worked like a mini cheese plate. I mounted a mini side/top handle on it. In fact I built a small rig around it. With the mounted handle and arca, I found there are enough mount points for use and I never needed a cage for that purpose. The build of the bracket is robust and is capable of supporting a lot of weight. The surface seems to be anodized aluminum, which allows very secure mounting as opposed to other slippery coatings on many cages. Highly recommended.

I'm really having a hard time with humanity right now. I read all the reviews saying you had to drill a hole to get the screw in, they didn't bother me much because drilling aluminum is easy and this item is relatively cheap. Imagine my surprise when I got it, and at half a glance noticed clearly that one side of the slot had frickin threads milled into it. If you can't figure this out, I have serious doubts about your ability to figure out the camera it goes on.Good build quality, clean threads, decent product at a good price. Apparently too complicated for half the internet.

I am using with Hasselblad

This works great to vertically mount my Yi 4K action camera on a QM-1 stick in order to take tennis match videos. Then if you desire you can quickly change to horizontal mounting. This is well made and sturdy; just what I wanted. However, there are no instructions; the only tricky part is how to get the locking screw into the slot. I bet this is the issue that Lea had in her 1-star review which was probably unjust. The locking screw will only go into the 2.5 inch slot by screwing it in at the end of the slot near the semi-circle cutout. See step 4 of the "Installation Instructions" which shows which end I mean. It's hard to see the threads because it is all painted black. There are threads there and only there that allow one to insert and screw it in and then slide it up and down the slot. It's a clever design that works well.
