Heart For Hearts Girls Tipi from Laos Doll

Shamefully I have to admit that I'm an American Girl and Wellie Wisher addict. During the past few years I wouldn't even give another doll brand a second look being convinced that American Girls were the best. Because I make and sell doll clothes for fun, I wanted to be sure my Wellie Wisher clothes would fit similarly-sized dolls. After combing the internet, I came across these Hearts for Hearts Girls. I ordered Dell and received her today. Quite frankly, I am blown away by her beauty. Her hair was kinked due to the way she was packaged, so I took a chance on setting my curling iron to the lowest setting to get the creases out of her hair and it turned out beautifully.In my attached photo, I have her standing next to AG's Willa and as you can see, she is just as beautiful as Willa (if not a little prettier in my opinion). Her hair is rooted and can look a little sparse if not styled right, but since I've noticed a huge decline in the quality of the AG hair with my last few purchases, I won't knock off points for that. In fact, as I compare these two dolls, I can see no justification for the Wellie Wisher dolls costing between 40 and 50 percent more than this doll.I love this doll so much that I've already ordered another Hearts for Hearts Girl (Rahel). I would highly recommend her to anyone.

I purchased the newly re-released H4H dolls right after they were released! I'm a long-time fan and I missed quite a few of these dolls when they were originally in stores. I've compiled mini reviews of each of the characters in this re-release. The packaging is sturdy and easy to open, and the little pieces they come with are darling and just make the dolls so much better. The little plastic comb is usable and durable, with a small hair-tie on the handle for endless hair styling! They also come with a bracelet and a book about the characters.DELL-Dell is gorgeous! She looks exactly the same as her original doll from what I can tell, except her hair is slightly straighter. It's beautiful. Soft, shiny and brushable with a gorgeous color blend.Her clothes are simpler than the more detailed dolls, but beautiful quality with detailed accessories like her hat and necklace!NAHJI-I have wanted Nahji since she was originally released but never had a chance to grab her. I'm so glad she came back, and she's by far my favorite from this bunch. Her hair is just as lovely as Dell's, with slightly more curl to it.I LOVE the detailing on this doll. From the nose piercing, to the henna tattoo, all the way to her beautiful outfit and headband, everything is high quality and well made. I am in love with this doll!RAHEL-Rahel is adorable and by far my second fave from this bunch. Her outfit is even more detailed than Nahji's, with tons of necklaces and bracelets and a lovely outfit. Her hair is amazing! Super bouncy, curly and shiny. I love dolls with natural hair textures like this; the diversity is one of the best things about this line!CONSUELO-Largely this doll is the same as her first run- gorgeously sewn, high quality clothing, detailed accessories and a sturdy doll with a beautiful face and high quality hair.Unfortunately, though, there's a big issue with this new Consuelo- her hair is mega short! Gone are the thick, long shiny brown locks of hair that she originally had. My Consuelo came to me with a side ponytail-like all of the dolls have in the box-except it was cut significantly shorter than the original. Not only was it short, it was uneven! One side of her head had longer hair with layers, and the other side was much shorter, with choppy layers. The quality of the hair has not changed but this one has an atrocious haircut. I don't know if this was a factory error or something went wrong with this one, but I'm disappointed in it.

Nahji is even more beautiful in person than in her photos. I am an adult collector. Her earrings come out and can be replaced. The pearl part is separate from the dangle (the dangle is cheap looking). Her dress is a soft knit and good quality, it velcros in the back. Her leggings are also nice with a printed pattern on them, they slide on and off. She does not wear underwear. Her head band is attached with a thread, like the dangles and bangles are also cheap looking (appropriate for a child, something I will replace). For now I've left the clear plastic bands that keep her shoes from coming off of her feet in transit. They are made of a rubber and fasten at the back. Her choker comes off and is somehow attached to her top. I had to snip a thread to separate it from her dress. Her hair is super soft with the scalp beneath it painted dark. I've attached a photo.I've now added Rahel to my collection. Like Nahji, she is more beautiful in person than in her photo. I like her jewelry better. One thing to be aware of, her necklaces are not actual beads, although they do like them them. If you want to remove them, they have to be cut. I left the dangles on her earrings as they are quite pretty. Her plastic bracelets are rubbery so they can be rolled off her hand (although it might be harder for a child to take them off or put them on). Her outfit is quite stunning and well made. Her top is a bodysuit. her shoes are sandals without backs so the attachment bands will stay on until I make her new shoes.

Tipi is a beautiful doll. I love her facial features and color of her hair. However, her hair is sparsely rooted. When you move her hair to the side and look at her scalp you can see bare scalp (black to match hair color). I really want to love this doll but would love her even more if she had more hair.
