Giving It Back 2 Stars (From 3 to 5)
UPDATE: I originally bought this with the complaint that it would not auto shut off even when it reaches the level I set it to. I got a replacement and I was about to be pretty upset because it still would not shut off automatically, so I raised the level about 5% and the compression light finally turned off. Customer service contacted me and I was told that it had to shut off when the humidity level is about 5% BELOW the target humidity, in order to avoid damage to the compressor. I showed them how unclear the description was, so they offered me a full refund and let me keep the product.Anyway, a month later I decided to get a second one after the replacement proved to be hardy and useful. I stuck the old one in the bathroom (works wonders) and put the new one in my room. It's so compact that I can squeeze it between the bathroom sink and the toilet which is a tight fit. Overall good design, attractive, and it's efficient as well. The reading is a little inconsistent with the hygrometer in my room: they both have to be monitored for hours to match. At first the noise level bothered me, but you get used to it and I would say it's no louder than a refrigerator hum. Every once in a while you hear water drip.I would recommend this product for the price, durability so far, effectiveness, and efficiency. I don't turn it on all the time but I do use it frequently and I haven't seen my energy bill spike. The purchasing experience started off rocky but customer service was very good and I am happy with the product.

Works great for being small
Unit actually has a compressor, so it's not one of those thermoelectric (peltier technology) models. I bought one of those thermoelectric models for a very small bathroom (less than 75sq. ft.) and ran it for three days and it only removed about 6 ounces of water. This Vacplus model removed more moisture in about 24 hours than that other model did in two weeks. I haven't tried the drain hose drain option, even though it does come with a drain hose. I like the fact that it is small and has a compressor. I personally don't think it's very loud. It has 2 modes, standard and drying, so it is slightly louder on the drying mode. May end up getting another identical one for the main bathroom.UPDATE 3/24/21: After running this unit for a week now I have to say it has done a great in my small bathroom. It definitely pulls out a lot of water. For those that say it has to be elevated to drain water thru the hose that's because this unit doesn't have an internal pump as do much larger units. My wife likes the mobility of the unit. My house is 1800 sq. ft., but this will not dehumidify my house. It's not designed to. It's for small spaces such as small basements, bathrooms, closets, etc. Works best if you close the room door when operating this unit. For me, one drawback is the fact that the water tank isn't covered so when removing the full tank remove it slowly to avoid water spillage. For the fact that it works really good for such a small unit and the price, I will give it a 5 star rating. Don't trying comparing this unit to a 50 pint or 70 pint unit because its not meant to work as hard as those bigger units.

Quiet and Small - So far so good .....
I have had the device for about a week (maybe a little over). I put it in the basement room, which is approximately 400 sq feet. It is right off the garage, and the door is opened frequently, so a good bit of GA humidity comes into the room regularly. In brief, for the price, I think it is a great dehumidifier! There are some flaws, but it cost me much less than other name-brand devices, which are not perfect either. I like that it has a 2yr warranty. Hopefully, it'll prove to be reliable, and I will not need to use it.On the first day of use, it dropped the humidity from 63% to around 55% to 57% humidity. Over the next couple of days, the humidity dropped to 50%. After about a week of constant running, it is now in the mid 40% range. I believe that in the next few days, it will probably drop to 40% and then begin to cycle on and off as I would expect. If it is constantly running, expect to empty the bucket a minimum of 2 times a day, although I think I have emptied 3 or maybe even times. Other people help with it, so I cannot say for certain. Also, since it is currently running constantly, it feels like it has probably warmed the room a little, but minimal.Pros:*Small convenient size on wheels make it easy to move around or put in an out-of-the-way space.*It's very quiet! Even at high speed, it generally makes no more noise than a small fan or refrigerator.*Easy to use. The digital display is bright and it is easily configured.Cons:* Because it is pulling out a lot of water, I connected the supplied hose to feed it into my A/C condensation pump. Despite that, some water still collects in the bucket, and eventually, it fills up anyway. I think water is condensing in other areas of the machine, which drops into the bucket. Once the humidity is what it is supposed to be, that water collection in the bucket will be minimal. I have seen this on other dehumidifiers, so it does not entirely surprise me. If it continues to be an issue, I will probably drill a hole in the bucket itself and install a cheap plastic spout to connect the drainpipe in that area instead. That will fix it for certain.* Supplied drain pipe is only 2 to 3 feet long. I had to buy a longer hose which I spliced into the existing hose to be of use. Some dehumidifiers do not even have a supplied hose though, so I do not know if this can be listed as a CON.* Some dehumidifiers allow for a water hose or washing machine hose to connect to the machine, but the location of this machine is a small tube that the supplied hose slides over. It does work fine, but my preference is the connector which allows for a hose to screw onto it.
