Amazon Basics Foldable, 14" Black Metal Platform Bed Frame with Tool-Free Assembly, No Box Spring Needed - California King

Good:I have a 100% amazon bed... besides the pillows. $45 for two pillows?; C'mon, I mean. I will still buy them but I'm going to wait! I've spent like about $1,000 USD. I got a cal king 12 inch bed (hybrid) from amazon basics, cal king metal platform, cal king amazon basics bed metal box, 3 inch cal king amazon basic memory foam topper (had a bit of yellow on it for God knows what reason? But, I don't know if that was my fault so I kept it because I have good morals and values), amazon basics cal king quilt, bed sheets, comforter, bed protector, EVERYTHING amazon brand! Pretty awesome if you ask me.Bad:Nothing bad, I know what I ordered, I know what I got, I knew what I wanted. Hook me up on them pillows my dude and dudette.

We had our box springs on the floor with our mattress on top of them after getting rid of an old bedroom set. I felt it was time to get off of the floor so I bought this frame based on reviews. First of all set up is quick and easy. The frame is in two halves with a couple thumb screws holding them together. Honestly they're so lightweight I was worried. We set up the frame and put the mattress on minus the box springs and suprise... it's solid. Actually feels more solid than the box springs on the floor if thats possible and it's completely quiet, no squeaks. Well I've only had it up for a week so if it falls apart I'll update this review. This bedframe is really nice. It's nothing special as far as looks go, but it is sturdy, and it makes no noise. We took other reviewer's advice and placed cardboard under our new foam mattress. We duct taped the cardboard together, and when I put the mattress protector on I tucked it under the cardboard to keep it from showing or moving. We have tested the bed out for a little less than a week, but we can say that it makes no noise while *cough* moving on it. I can also say that it fits our new California King mattress perfectly. Worth the money. Great value purchase.

Overall this is a great platform for a mattress. It’s high off the ground so there’s tons of storage space underneath which is exactly what I needed! However, there are a couple minor issues. I purchased the California King size for my California King mattress and the frame extends beyond the corners of the mattress a little bit—not a major issue, but I’ve definitely stubbed my toe a couple times now. Additionally, the metal slats that run across it to support the mattress are a little sharp on the edges, which isn’t a problem if you have two people that can lift and place the mattress down on top of it, but if you’re alone and trying to just slide your mattress into place it feels like it could rip it.

This is great value as their is no assembly required except for attaching the two halves together. the only problem is that the two screws they give you is not long enough to connect the two pieces together because there are embedded parts in the middle sticking out that prevent you from lining up the two halves right next to each other
