Oh boy!
I was so disappointed with this installment of this series. I'm not sure why the author decided to introduce a whole new set of characters when I feel there was still much more she could do with the ones we already had. I also don't understand why she keeps making damsels in distress out of the main characters.Like all her other books there is a female character and a male character that end up getting together. So we have this long expensive annoying sex scene that just does not go with this book. I've said this in every single review so far. it almost feels like a romance novel with a little bit of supernatural and detective storyline. It also bothers me how the men seem to look at these women like they are helpless and cannot defend themselves. In this book the woman is a marshall and yet she still the damsel in distress being saved by the man. I believe this will be the last book I read of hers for a while.I don't like not finishing series and I also bought the next two parts. But I need a break! I read the next two books don't even have the characters that I've grown to like. It seems to me she's introducing more characters to make them hook up and end up having this happily ever after. It's sad there's so much potential here I just don't understand why she keeps doing the same thing over and over again.

A mystry book with twists and a backstory of hopeful wonder - there are ghosts? Maybe!
The Krewe of Hunters series is a good series by Heather Graham. I'm reading each and every book in order. Some are more interesting to me than others but each book has a different location. The characters are brought in from book to book but each book seems to feature a different person. Some times a female and some times a male .. each will find a love and mate but that is just a back story to the mystery and who done it story line. Women may think this series was written for them because of the loving relationship that develops for the main character; but I think men will like the mystery story which you will usually not figure out. You can guess but it takes you to the end to KNOW!

IT WAS OKAY
A U.S. Marshall and her Texas Ranger lover are able to solve crimes with the help of ghosts In an old inn, and a ghost that walks among the living at the Alamo. Interesting concept, I guess. The many pages about the history of the Alamo was, I think, overkill. It was as though the author wanted to prove to the reader that she had done her research concerning the Alamo. Okay already, you did your research, good for you, now please get on with your story! She gave away who the killer was before she had wanted to too, I think. All in all, I'd say this book was entertaining, but a bit predictable.

Not "The Shining" but a good book
Good ghost story. Small amount of useful information about the Alamo. Puzzling continual remarks about being "Texan". I've lived in Austin for 13 years, and wonder if a "Texan" knows what the characters are talking about or not. It would have been very useful to include even one explanation of what the author thinks a "Texan" is, or make it more clear that this is a piece of local mythology if in fact that's what it is. I liked the book, and would recommend it to Heather Graham fans. I wouldn't recommend every Heather Graham book to Heather Graham fans. I wouldn't rate it up there with "The Shining".

Special FBI read x files group Krewe of Hunters apprehend's serial killers while falling in love on the way. Krewe refers to the Krewes of New Orleans, which are basically social clubs.

Fantastic Read
This series just keeps getting better and better. I sure didn't see this ending coming. You could just picture the way the ghosts came in as they talked about them.

Disappointing Lackluster (Yeehaw). . .
In light of my low rating, I must first confess this was the first Heather Graham book I've read. I don't know how I missed her before - she appears to be as prolific in her way as James Patterson.I was born, raised and have lived my entire life in Texas. San Antonio is my favorite city in Texas, although I've never lived there. With that in mind, I expected a lot more from this book and a seemingly well-established author.I had such high hopes for this book and had eagerly awaited its release, to the extent of pre-ordering it. Now having read the book, I'm not even sure the author visited San Antonio. Some of the story is based loosely around the Alamo, which of course is a dominant landmark of the city, but the history itself is only vaguely presented. I guess I should clarify the inclusion of the Alamo here - there was a ghost, a park bench and a lot of gazing at the Alamo chapel. Once or twice Alamo Plaza is mentioned, and once, Ripley's Believe-It-Or-Not (gag) is mentioned. It's across the street from the Alamo (shudders, I know). The one time the characters ate on the RiverWalk, it was a vague reference and certainly did nothing to promote tourism for the city - not that that was the author's intended goal, of course.I am just saying that San Antonio has so much to offer and I had truly hoped the author would use some of the landmarks/events that make the city the treasure that it is - at least to the extent of making the reader believe she had actually been there. Also, in Texas, there is a certain sterotype of the cowboy and that lifestyle. There are those here who do seem to enjoy embodying that lifestyle. There are those of us who detest it. This book does its level best to embrace the idea that Texas is one long rodeo and we are all duded up for it. Thankfully, this is not true. The storyline is weak, the main characters difficult to warm up to. At best, they are flat - at worst, in the case of Sandy, just annoying. Conversations are dull, pointless and stereotypical. The romance is not great. Normally, I love the inclusion of Native American characters and backstory, but in this case, there are two strong Native American leads and I spent a third of the book trying to distinguish between the two.I understand this is part of an ongoing story, something I did not realized when I preordered the book. I have already bought a couple of the beginning books and I will read them, but if they are not any stronger than this one, I can't see spending valuable time and money any further.
