Thimbleberry Stories

It’s so hard to find good, wholesome stories for children. These are great! My four yr old and seven yr old both love them.

Well, that was downright precious. Can’t get over how cozy and sweet and entirely evocative these four short stories are. 💕🌻

I've been looking for the best children's books to help me figure out how to write one, and I'm glad I just found out about Cynthia Rylant. She's my favorite children's author now and I've been reading her other books too. Her stories with animal characters are cozy, funny, clever, thought-provoking, and easy and fun to read. Thimbleberry Stories consists of a chipmunk and its animal friends and their interesting personalities. For example, the owl is so busy trying to make his house perfect that he ends up with it being messy and the mysterious reason for this is solved at the end. The illustrations are beautiful too. My own children would have loved this book but I'm not sure about my little granddaughter, who's so into Disney characters. I'm going to find out though.

Cynthia Rylant is one of my favorite writers of children's literature. Her characters have soul and depth.Her Mr Putter and Tabby stories are just sweet and lovely. Also, The Old Lady who Named Things is a favorite. My former students used to love and request multiple readings of The Relatives Came.This little book of stories is just fun. The characters have personalities and use vocabulary that isgreat for children to learn in context. I purchased this for my granddaughter, and she has enjoyed itvery much.

My favorite is the one in which Owl re-arranges his furniture! This book works very well as a read-aloud.

My daughter really loves these stories and I love that they are sweet and respect the magic of childhood. Some of the words are over her head (she's 6) but it's expanding her vocabulary, so that's a good thing.

This book is lovely. So rich in vocabulary for my first grade daughter. The illustrations are full-color and charming. I highly recommend this sweet book!

Cute stories. Very beautiful illustrations.It was a nice bedtime read for my son who absolutely loves chipmunks.
