I've got a good bit of music gear that uses these USB type B ports on them. It can get difficult to unplug them when re-routing cabling since they are always in the back of the device, keyboard, etc.This adapter, makes it easier to route the cable out to the side of the device, also the straight cables are difficult to use when they jut out the back of the device, as its difficult to stack them near other devices. These adapters provide a right angle connection so its harder to jam the connector when moving gear about, and easier to route the cable out of the way.These also save wear and tear on the original device port, since I leave them plugged into the device and only remove the usb cables from this adapter when I need to move it.

I bought it for my mother as a mother's day gift a while ago, yes I buy weird stuff for my mother. She's a bridge director (the card game) and has a dealing machine to make up boards to allow her to host games at a club. Before, the Type B cable would stick straight out of the dealing machine taking up dinner table realestate and place a lot of stress on the female end of the connector. While sadly mine points down in the wrong direction (my fault) it still provides great use as it sits rather flush against the machine and has enough lead to place the female end behind it and out of everyone's way. Needless to say, it was a win. Though, if you're going to buy this, look at the back of your device you're plugging this into and take the time to figure out what you need. I got lucky, but I should have bought the Up and Down ones instead. Also, get this kind of package. At least it's a fifty fifty success rate. I like that this offers a right and left option.

I use a Line6 HX Stomp with my MacBook Air. I was originally concerned with latency because of an adapter but this works perfectly.There are 2 adapters oriented differently. This allows use of the port on my HX Stomp on either side regardless of the outputs I’m using.Good product.

The package included 2 adapters. I only needed one but always nice to have a spare. When I received the adapters I plugged one into my printer. It was angled the wrong way. The other included adapter is angled the opposite way. Pretty cool. I would order from them again.

In my opinion, these are better than the "L" shaped cables. and have more flexibility in direction

Great little unit. Using this I can minimize cable strain.I actually use this on my Graphtec CE6000 vinyl cutter so that if I accidentally catch the cord, I won't yank it and break the socket.

I'm using this adapter for my Maschine mkii MIDI controller. The Maschine Mkii has an indented USB port on the back.Unfortunately, the rounded black rubberized part of the male usb connector doesn't fit into the back of the Maschine.It's like trying to fit a round peg into a square hole.It just doesn't go in all the way. So it doesn't make a secure connection.I spent a good chunk of time filing down the black rubber by hand. Pretty inconvenient.But now the adapter fits and works as intended!Don't get me wrong. This product does work. It serves its purpose.I'm glad I got it because it's saving me some desk space that was being wasted by a protruding straight USB cable.

Wish it had mounting holes!Usable as it is.
