Michael TurbackChartreuse: The Holy Grail of Mixology, with Cocktail Recipes and Lore

Who knew Chartreuse was so versatile?
I've been in love with Chartreuse the spirit since I visited the distillery in Voiron, France, seven years ago. Generally, I would simply sip a little after dinner as a digestif. This book opened my eyes to the myriad of uses with other sophisticated cocktails. I am especially a fan of the Chartreuse mojito (pictured above).

Did you know Queen Elizabeth has a chartreuse + champagne cocktail each day? Fun recipes and stories for chartreuse lovers. Love!

Interesting
This was a gift for my sister. She loves history.

Excellent and interesting!
The most endearing parts of this book are the snippets of history given with each drink recipe. They are very well written, informative, interesting, and often humorous. The Widow's Kiss on page 74 is a must read, must try cocktail.

More recipes than history
Great recipes, but not much on the history of the spirit.

Not a lot of history. Mostly just recipes.
I was expecting a lot more "lore" and history of the Liqour and the monks. Only has 3 pages of very generic information and the rest is all recipes.
