The media could not be loaded.  When I first opened these I thought they looked really cheap. I mean a plastic flappy thing pretending to be a flame seemed ridiculous. Then I put in the batteries and lit them up. Wow. As long as you're not staring straight down into the candle it looks surprisingly real. I would recommend putting them on a slightly higher shelf or in a holder to keep up the illusion. My husband even warned me not to leave the candles lit when I left the room because he forgot they were fake. I also thought the remote was a little ridiculous, but it's great because I can have them up on our mantle and don't have to reach up to turn each one one.

This set is virtually identical to a Gideon LED candle set that I purchased which uses 3AAA batteries. This set uses 2AA batteries promoted for long life so I bought the set. Unfortunately this set has only 1/3 the brightness of the Gideon AAA set. Not acceptable brightness for realism. I am returning for credt and then will repurchase the AAA LED candlle set by Gideon. I have had those for 15 months and love them. Very realistic brightness for just $3 more. (19.99) as of 4/22/2018I use rechargeable batteries which I recommend to everyone. Rechargeable batteries have paid for themselves many times over already. Hope this review helps someone out there.

The media could not be loaded.  I got thes candle to go into a frameless fireplace so I could have a nice warm ambience all year round. First I want to say I wanted to give these candles 5 stars because I like them so much but there were a few glitches. The candles look great in my fire place the warm flickering glow brings a very inviting atmosphere and the remote really serves well, before I had regular candles and I had to make sure I didn't forget to blow them out before going to bed. These are on a timer so I don't need to worry about turning them off or being bothered by the smoke. The candles were slimmer then I expected but actually look better then the thicker ones. Now to the glitches...one of the candles do no not flicker as you can probably see in the pic. or the video, another one the bottom will not stay on I had to tape it closed and I have to push the remote several times to get all of them to go on and off. I am going to purchase 3 sets of the three pack for other rooms in the house I hope I don't have any problem with these. I couldn't comment on the battery life yet but will after I have them for a while and know how long they really last.

These candles are beautiful when working properly BUT they are VERY SENSITIVE TO BATTERY VOLTAGE. When I first got these, I could barely see a glow from them, and the controller did not change the brightness. Since all 3 candles looked identical, I figured there might be something else causing the problem. It is the BATTERIES! I put in freshly charged Nimh rechargeable batteries initially. These batteries state that their voltage is 1.2 volts per battery, and I actually got a measurement of 2.6 volts for two of them. I then put in two "non rechargeable" alkaline batteries - and got a voltage of 3.24 volts. I took the third of my candles and hooked it up to a regulated power supply I have - and set that at 2.7 volts just to compare. In the attached picture, the barely visible candle on the left is running on rechargeables at 2.6 volts. The center candle is running off the power supply at 2.7 volts, and the candle on the right is running on two alkaline batteries at 3.24 volts. Even though we think of AA batteries as being exactly 1.5 volts, they are not - and it varies by the type of battery. Usually this is not an issue - but with these candles it is. Don't plan on using these with Nimh rechargeable batteries. It doesn't work well - leaving you with using regular alkaline throw out batteries. Not good. The picture I have attached says it all.

Items arrived quickly and in good condition. I ordered AA batteries and loaded them all up. The remote already had a battery and worked. I didn't realize that the "realistic flames" are created by plastic flat "flame" shaped pieces that bounce around on the top. It looks cheap when they aren't lit because of this, however, when they are lit they really look like "dancing" flames. Except they make noise because the plastic flame pieces move and click against the candle so you'll hear that if it's quiet. Also, when they are separated and placed around the room, the remote has to be pointed at each candle individually to operate them (it won't click them ALL on at the same time). Overall, I like these candles as they give the warm glow of a real candle which is what I was looking for.

Amazing CandlesI purchased 3 sets of these candles for a dinner party. One of the guests included a former professional party planner who only used real candles, but due to animals I cannot. This guest said he has now changed his mind about flameless candles and will be ordering some for himself. These candles are beautiful and the flame does really dance like a real flame. It is so nice to walk into the house after work and see the soft glow of candles that come on with the timer.

the timer does not work well. I have purchased many of these type of candles and you can set and forget. These candles not so much. I set them for 2 hours and they may stay on for 2 hours or they may stay on for 10 minutes. They come with two controllers but only one of them work. The candles look good, just do not work as advertised. Since this review the seller has contacted me and wants to send me replacement candles. This is great customer service - they seem to truly care if I am satisfied with their product. Thank you for your concern. Will be glad to try the new set of candles. Update: Supplier has contacted me with a coupon code to purchase replacement candles. Can't ask for more than that. Thank you.

After reading a mixture of reviews by other customers I decided to take a chance on these. At first I thought the flickering mechanism was a bit naff, but I found, after a few evenings of getting used to them, they seemed quite natural. I think there is a tendency to stare at the new toy at first and you focus on any faults, but when they fade into the background, in a manner of speaking, they become a very pleasant, quite realistic, and perfectly safe decoration. All they lack is the smell of burning candle wax. I think what I would do is use these as background, dotted around the room perhaps, with real candles used for table decorations.You have to provide two AA batteries for each candle, and I don't know how long they last, but I get the impression from what I've read and past experience of LED torches that they should last several hundred hours, which suits me.I'd recommend them. Don't expect them to be 100% indistinguishable from real candles, but in my view they're not at all a bad imitation. It's hard to see how they could be any better, so they get 5 stars from me.

The brightness and flame effect of the candles are good, but the overall effect is ruined by the constant clicking sound of the plastic flame. I can't begin to understand how anyone could enjoy these with the constant 'tick-tick-tick-tick' in the background. Perhaps you could get used to it in time, but there has to be a better solution out there. A shame.

Based on the high reviews I decided for £15, to take the plunge. I go through real pillar candles almost weekly and it was started to get pricey to keep replacing them. These are fabulous, with the added bonus of the remote - they feel real and look real. When they're on they're very realistic and the flame bobs about in a very convincing manner.You have various setting on the remote - you can set the candle to 2hr 4hr or 6hr "burn times" and after this time they will turn off automatically. You can also adjust the brightness and choose candle or normal mode. (candle mode makes the lights inside flicker more) I've had them for weeks now and not had to change the batteries yet. Being flameless they're also great around pets and children.Love them! They look gorgeous in my lanterns.

Been looking for realistic “fake” candles for a large lantern for ages. After reading the reviews decided to give these a go. They are fantastic .... best I’ve seen anywhere. Like others commented, they would be even better if a bigger diameter but when the five are grouped together they give a wonderful, realistic flame glow..... the main joy of these is the fact that you need two AA batteries rather than the fiddly little penny/tiny button batteries, so if you get top quality at the beginning they last for simply ages. Like everything it depends how often you are putting them on but i bought these for a holiday home so we only use intermittently for a few hours at a time but so far they are perfect. I’ve bought two sets and the remote does both sets - the remote is a bit naff really but it does work - I find it best to direct it to each candle individually and they go on and off fine.... I’ve got them inside but have used them outside when having a BBQ and they are gorgeous. I have them on permanent flicker which I prefer as I think its more natural. The only downside is that they are real wax and as such if they are in the sun they will melt! As was commented “they look more real than ever now!”. Hmm..... !! Absolutely love them..... treat yourself you won’t be disappointed.

Love! Would ideally have liked the candles to be a bit fatter but the flickering effect makes them look real when lit. I initially couldn't get the hand control to work until I realised that I hadn't pulled out the small plastic sheet mentioned in the instruction booklet! After pulling that out, it still didn't work but after reinserting the special round battery that comes with it, it worked perfectly and has been giving myself and my family a lot of pleasure. It makes it so much easier to be able to turn the candles on and off with one press! Our candles are in our fireplace and really add to the ambience. I have given these 4 stars simply because I didn't find it easy to open the battery lid and neither did my husband. However, the benefit of this is that it stays closed with the battery inside! No smoke to make my daughter cough and no damage to ceiling paint from smoke effect. I'd definitely recommend them!
