A lot of common sense based on what was known back then
The practices given in this book date back 5,000 years so they had a lot of time to figure out what worked and what did not - an example: drink a glass of water in the morning but only from a copper vessel that had water poured in it THE DAY BEFORE. As a chemist I know that copper is toxic to life (copper tailing ponds in my local mining community) and so this will be a natural sterilizer thus killing most of the bacteria/microorganisms that were in that water. They did not know of science in those days and a godly explanation was given (copper conducts electricity so a part of lightning (from the sky gods) is in ithe practical results (regardless of the explanations) are the same. The whole of the book is good ancient wisdom from repeated trials and errors - good common sense information based on what was known at the time.
