Excellent for composting
Granted, it's not warm weather yet and I may disagree with my headline, but for now, I am sold. This is the third product I bought to hide under my sink cabinet and the first that checks all the boxes: well made, easy to use and install, sturdy, perfect size, easy to open yet closes well enough that I don't think bugs will get in, lid stays open when you need it to, bags aren't necessary, easy to clean, lifts off without a hitch, and it has a handle. Plus, it's adorable. I love this little thing. I know, right? It's a waste can...??!!

Very Good
$20 bucks for a piece of plastic seemed a little stiff to me but, I gotta say this compost bin is the bomb. 1. The lid has a little lip so you can lift it open easily with the side of your arm or hand so if you have a hand full of scraps you don’t have to put your messy hands all over the bin and pry it open like others I’ve had.2. It is also has a very cute non offensive and simple look with a nice color.3. The bag system is really nice too it goes under the top lid and prevents the bag from falling down and getting mixed in with you compost.4. No odor5. No little flies hanging around6. The handle is great too, I just take the top lid off and little red ridding hood the bucket to my main compost bin7. Easy to clean8. Great size for the kitchen counter doesn’t take up too much room and fits a good amount waste. That’s about it, it’s a pretty good little bin.

Functional and cute bins
This is a cute bin and now I wish I could buy tons of these to organize my entire life. I bought this one to fit under my kitchen sink so that I can put compost in it. It comes with a biodegradable bag liner and is just the right size to fit in the cupboard below the sink. The plastic is nice quality and it keeps the smelly compost smell from spreading throughout the house. You can also mount these on a wall or somewhere. I don't know where I might do that, but the idea is cool. Maybe you could line a bunch of them up in a closet for recycling, compost, and trash? Or use them to organize a garage? Also, the colors are cute. I'd buy more of these!

What's not to like/love... I mean...
We got this as a replacement for a metal kitchen compost container we had. This fits great in our freezer and makes it easy to throw compostable scraps into. By keeping it in the freeze we bypass all the fruit flies (so gross). I didn't give this 5 stars because we haven't had it to long. But it's a decent price, easier to clean than the other container and fits in the freezer. I like the color too - but does it really matter if it lives in the freezer and has fruit and veggie bits inside? Meh.

Love the thing. Use it as a composable waste bin
We got it when our city started compostable trash collection. It looks great sitting on our kitchen counter. Doesn’t smell until you open the lid and the waste is several days old.We use it with these bags: UNNI ASTM D6400 100% Compostable Trash Bags, 3 Gallon. They’re a little large but it gives enough extra bag length to tie them off.We empty it a couple of times a week. Have never had a problem with flies/maggots as some report with other compost containers. Easy to clean weekly with soap and water. The one caution is that it is not a robust design. I’m a minimalist and so appreciate that they’ve only used as much plastic material as is needed to do the job. But people who don’t treat things carefully might break the thing.

Love it as a compost bin
It’s small enough to fit on our counter without taking up too much room. There’s no smell and we don’t get flies unless we take too long to empty it, which we usually do about 1-2 times per week. We use compostable bags and it’s a perfect solution to mandatory composting requirements.

My 12 year old can't believe I spent $16 on this but I suspect he doesn't fully grasp capitalism
After 5 years with an old chinese food take out container serving as my countertop compost bin, I finally decided to spend some money on a real one. I'm so glad I found this one while searching. The metal ones are nice enough but this is more my taste and even a little better price. I love the matte blue color, the ease of cleaning it, and how easy it is to dump it without getting any crap on you. Despite my 12 year old grumblings, I think this is a great deal for the money.

Great product, good use of space
One of the things I hate about a lot of products is the space that is wasted both inside and around it. What you see is what you get with the Brabantia bin. It holds a fair amount of waste and keeps the smell in decently well (we used it as a cloth diaper pail and would still if my sons bowels hadn't taken a turn for his father's, they can no longer be contained) my only wish is that they made them bigger so I could use it as a trash can for my kitchen. NOTE: the blue is not exactly the same in the photo. It's less minty and just... Sky blue? Light blue. Idfk

Wonderful
Had issues with the city-provided compost bucket being an awkward shape and hard to clean/not many bags fit into it. So we bought this and it's easy to use and clean and pretty colour to boot! We would prefer garbage disposal but this is the next best option. No fruit flies or flies got into it, keeps smells contained, and easy to dump, and most compostable bags fit into it. We aren't allowed to dump compostable bags into our compost for pickup, so we use them just as a liner to keep the bin cleaner. I dump the compost into the bin and then throw away the liner, rinse out and dry the inside, and put a new liner in. Super simple and easy.
