Jolly ball quality not the same any more
We just got this ball a few hours ago and I just opened it five minutes ago. My dog carries the ball with the handle and it’s already cracked. I’ve only thrown it like five times to her. I’ve had several jolly balls over the years for my previous border collie that have never done this. Quality is terrible now.

These are great.
I've had several of these in different sizes. They last a long long time and the dogs enjoy playing fetch with them. The only time I've had one ruined was when one of the dogs left it out in the fields and the hay cutter went over it...... but even then, with the slashes from the blades, it is STILL usable & they still play with it. I've got to buy a small one now for my latest rescue pup.

Not Hard plastic like the original
We have a puppy who loves chasing soccer balls but he pops them in minutes. We purchased this thinking it was hard plastic like the original. It’s not. It’s a softer rubber material. We got it at 3:30 it’s 8 now and he has managed to chew the entire handle off. He isn’t an aggressive chewer either. If your dog is a chewer save your money this won’t last!

Pretty Tough for the money
Far from indestructible, but really tough. To be fair, my two dogs played DAILY tug of war games with this Jolly Ball. I bought the one in the picture on March 12 and the replacement came in today, July 22, so it lasted about 4 months before they started actually pulling it apart. And in 4 months I see myself buying it again.

Fantastic for super chewers
Even when the ball goes flat, it is safe for dog to chew since the material does not come apart. Dog LOVES to play fetch with these. Eventually the handle separates from the ball and I have to buy a new ball - maybe every three to four months? Worth it though for the pleasure it gives the dog. And she generally destroys any toy in 10 minutes.

Not worth it anymore
This was my dogs favorite toy. He has had the red ball in the photo since he was 8 weeks old. He is now 13 months. He finally got a tear in the handle so I wanted to replace it so the ball can hang in the tree again but aside from the handle, the rest of the ball is in great shape still and still gets daily use.I had purchased another jolly ball in green to mix it up, It only lasted him about 3 days because of how thin and flimsy it was. My dog shredded that into pieces. I still find remnants left over from that battle. I wrote that off as my mistake since maybe with it being intended for a horse and apple scented then it could be built different. No big deal, MY FAULT.So I go back to my original purchase and place another order for the original red jolly ball. What I get is this flimsy ball that is the same as the green ball I mentioned, maybe worse. The first ball had bite resistance, it took a considerable amount of force to compress the ball even by stepping on it. These new balls that are being sent out you can compress them with only 1 finger. Its a joke honestly for the intended purpose. I would love to know where to buy a real jolly ball from again. As it stands, the replacement ball is being returned and I would deem these a waste of money until they figure out what is going on. Keep the original product but raise the price if you need to but don't produce a product that serves no actual purpose and is rubber going right to a landfill. So... yeah I don't know. I'm going to have to get him a real tire or something now since these jolly balls won't make the cut.

My dog loves this ball
This is my second jolly ball, my brother's dog chewed the handle off of the first one and my dog was not very happy about that and no longer wanted to play with it because he had a hard time picking it up.He loves loves loves his jolly ball. He always wants me to play tug, but with him holding the handle and me holding the ball, which doesn't work out very well, for me at least. I can tell him to go find his big ball and he will walk around the yard looking for it and bring it to me. He will seek out and bring me sticks and balls when asked (and when not asked), and he always chooses the jolly ball over other balls.I have a hard time throwing it very far because my body is trying to fall apart, but my brother can really chunk it far. So if you have any sort of shoulder or arm problems, you might have a hard time throwing it very far like I do, but your dog will still love it. It's not super heavy, but it's definitely heavier than a tennis ball, which I can't throw very far either. Our first ball did not have a scent, but this one smelled like blueberries. It was nice while it lasted, now it probably smells like dirt and slobber. I'm sure the dogs can still smell the blueberry scent, but I can't and I'm not inclined to get my nose close enough to investigate further. This might be a nice feature for a visually impaired dog, but I'm not sure how powerful the scent is after some time, as stated above, I can no longer smell it from a distance but who knows what my dog can smell. While this ball looks really hard it's actually pretty malleable. Don't get me wrong, it will hurt your foot a little if you kick it and it will sure hurt if you played dodgeball with it. It's pretty firm yet malleable. My dog likes to repeatedly chomp down on it, biting it over and over for several minutes at a time. This is the same technique I have seen him use to dispatch a few unfortunate critters that weren't quite coordinated or intelligent enough to make an escape. I assume he uses his jolly ball to make sure he brings his a-game when a chomping opportunity arises, like the dog equivalent to lifting weights lol. Whatever the case, this activity is quite therapeutic to him and he really seems to enjoy it. No other toy seems to give him the same satisfaction. He gives it a resounding 10/10 for chompability. The jolly ball is definitely his 2nd favorite toy, #1 is reserved for the laser light, and the laser is really more of an addiction for my dog than a toy, so I guess technically the jolly ball is his #1 favorite toy! I'll definitely be replacing this one when the time comes!

Bad Handle
All in all it is a great product. My girl is a heavy chewer and within a couple of days had the handle chewed almost completely off. I cut the remaining parts off. She still plays with it and the main part seems to be holding up really well. She loves it. I would have given 5 stars, if the handle had not been so easy for her to chew off.

Great toy to play fetch!
Love the handle! My dog can grab it and run around without dropping it and I have something to grasp when I throw it. Very sturdy toy, and medium to large dogs won’t have any trouble lifting it. Highly recommended!

Durable
My dog destroys any toy within 5 minutes. This toys is very durable. Her teeth do penetrate the ball but it doesn’t affect the ball in anyway. I am impressed with this product.

It's the best toy ever!
Hello, my name is Chert. I am a full grown, 140 pound German Shepherd. When I first came to my family, they knew I'd be a big boy, however, I don't think they quite imagined me to be as big as I am. When I was 7 months old I could hold a full soccer ball in my mouth. My bite and teeth would puncture them so they'd deflate. I was usually left with a flap of rubber with tatters of covering. I loved that too but it's not the same as a ball. If I was tossed a tennis ball it would be crushed before I got it back to be thrown again. My neighbor who worked at a pet store gave me a horse Jolly Ball for Christmas. Wow! It was huge! but I managed to flatten it a bit with my paws and pick it up to bring it back. My mom and dad found the handled Jolly Ball and got me one of those. I finally wore that one out after two years and now it was time for a new one. I still have my old one and it is still in fairly good shape but it is deformed, frozen by the winter. I can't take it to the dog park because all the other dogs are so curious about it that they want it. When we go away I run and get my Jolly Ball and tell mom and dad I'm packed. Both balls come in the house when I come in so no one can steal them and the winter can't deform my new one. I'm back to chasing my new one and there is nothing like it. I'm a happy puppy!
