Works great and transfers data fast.
I purchased this because I did not have a SD card slot on my new PC. Sony makes reliable and quality equipment. I am using this to download videos from a 4k camera. the downloads from the SD care ar very fast.

X3 Speed increase from my uhs i card reader!
I had been using uhs i for a couple years, until it dawned on me that the new SD cards I upgraded to were uhs ii.Most of the card readers out there have a USB C connection, but my tower's only port was already occupied. This was the only really reputable card reader that granted USB standard connection to my tower.Running a test on the same large video file, I got a 3X speed increase with this uhs ii reader.Needless to say it's worth every penny.Just make sure you're plugging it into your fastest USB port available. Mine was USB SS 10.

FAST
As a filmmaker I have to deal with Terabytes of data on regular base, and Backing up files at the end of the day is a mission critical task. As I shoot A LOT in SD cards I noticed that the backup was taking too long to read the darn cards filled with data. So a quick test on my laptop SD card reader and on a cheap transcend reader reveled that I had a bottleneck. Fast reader are expensive but this one is reasonable and FAST! I went from 90 kbs to 263 / 277 kbs. 3 x faster (ish). Whic did cut by backups by a third of the time they used to. NOW I'm copying the SD cards to an SSD drive that sustains 500mbs write speed. So if you are copying to a regular spin disk your speed will be limited by the receiving hard drive. Overall quite satisfied with the purchase. If you need a faster UHS-II SD card reader. This one is a sure thing. The SD card I used for benchmarking was the Sony TOUGH 128GB V60. I don't have a V90 to test, sorry.

Affordable real high speed SD Card reader
Really like this Sony reader because of its size. can read Prograde USH-II speed up to 260Mb/s read and 170Mb/s write. Found out Sony USH-II write speed is lower than Prograde, only 90Mb/s but read speed is similar. Very Useful tool, more compact and more than half price of Prograde reader. Hope it will last for a decent life.

Almost Perfect
I needed a quick replacement for my old Lexar reader as it could not read cards above 32GB. The Sony MRW-S1 product appealed to me and I am happy that I ordered one. It transfers fast, is sturdy, and has not let me down at any time. The only reason why I gave it "only" four stars is because it is quite wide. With its 32 mm width, it does not fit in any USB slots where the neighboring slot is occupied. I solved that problem with an USB3 hub.Apart from that, I can highly recommend this product.

fast, reliable and compact. mind the ratings to achieve full transfer speeds.
FAST. FAST. FAST! I transitioned away from SanDisk to Sony's latest G series SD cards for my Fujifilm X-T2 camera because they're faster and slightly better value. Once i finally replaced my iMac with a current model, i bought this and the Kingston Memory branded reader that's a similar size and format since the SD reader on the iMac is in a ridiculous spot on the back of the machine. obviously you need UHS-II cards and USB 3 or better ports to use this reader at its full potential, but once you do you'll never go back. this is by far the fastest, most reliable way to get large amounts of images and footage out of your camera and onto disk for editing. the cap is nice for protecting the USB plug during travel but, since it's unattached, will likely end up lost along the way.my only complaint would be the use of a USB 3.0 plug instead of the latest USB 3.1 Type-C plug, forcing me to use an adapter to work with my macbook pro.if you can get it on sale, it's worth it. if not, the Kingston reader is a similar size and nearly as fast for a lot less money.

Reads every card I've thrown at it.
Solves the problem of finicky cards that only work in some readers. This works great with every card I throw at it. I use it daily. Really fast read speeds with my Sony Tough cards.

Not bad!!!
This is a pretty useful device, but I rarely use it since all of my dongles and docks come with card readers now.
