Gigantic Improvement Over My Old Fountain
As I was preparing to adopt a new rescue cat, and my last cat fountain by Drinkwell was such an annoyance, I thought I would upgrade prior to her adoption day (July 2022). I was hoping for any kind of improvement over the Drinkwell, and I got it on all levels.*Note: my CatCare fountain was bought 6 months ago so I have a slightly different model than the one currently available. Mine has a cube shape and a long plastic attachment with three waterfall sections rather than the single one I'm seeing on this listing now. Despite this I think all the most basic and pertinent features of the fountain are the same model-to-model.My new kitty loves drinking from it, and she was really timid when I got her, so I wasn't sure if she'd take to the fountain immediately. Turned out just fine! She likes drinking from it and despite that the top drinking area is exposed to the air, it doesn't collect a bunch of gross stuff over time. She prefers the pool rather than the waterfall section of the fountain, but I like that she has that option. As for cleaning, it is 10 times easier to clean than my last cat fountain - you can disassemble the top plastic easily, and clean the top drinking area, waterfall piece, and filter easily. I clean all of these once a week and sanitize the entire fountain monthly, and it's really easy. There are no weird pockets or areas that are hard to get to or clean, everything comes apart and reassembles easily, and all of it can be washed by hand and put back together with minimal time and effort. My old Drinkwell had giant filters that I had to replace once a week or if lucky, twice a month. It made tons of noise and was awful to have to clean. I'd have to take it into the bathtub and rinse everything out while using lots of dish soap and pipe cleaners and toothbrushes. It was incredibly annoying. So once again, HUGE improvement.Lastly, the filtration is great, and it costs about the same or a bit less than my old fountain. It's very easy to change the filters and nice to only have to replace the main filter every three months. There are three filters total, once main "ultrafiltration" filter, one near the pump that needs to be changed every couple weeks (or whatever you actually may need), and a metal one that filters out the largest debris in the fountain. The metal filter can just be rinsed and washed, no replacement necessary. The ultrafiltration filter goes for just under $20, so you spend essentially $7 a month for all of them. The only con I've noticed is that the amount of water it holds isn't a huge amount, but it is also nice that it takes up less of a footprint in my house, so that may be a consideration for you. This CatCare fountain is likely to be quite good for any single-cat homes overall.

This lets me love my cat the best I can ā„ļøšāā¬
I love that itās real, human grade filtering. I am a huge pamperer of our little tuxedo, so I put mountain spring water in anyways. But it keeps it clean and filtered, from all the licking it up. Would you drink a bowl of backwash? š He LOVES drinking from the little waterfall (I also have the older model. Purchased mine around 10 months ago. And it is still working perfectly. No fading. No cracking or loosening. Itās just as near silent as always. The sound of the water trickling is louder than the filter or pump. Now I donāt hear it at all.Itās quite easy to clean, and I also love that it constantly catches solids as it goes back under for a filter. My guy is a wild eater and flings it ALL over and makes it into this somehow. Which is another plus having it raised. I almost never find food in it. But when he does, itās caught quick. It took no time for him to drink from it, I hadnāt even put it together yet and he was trying. And he drinks so much more now.For the price, its absolutely worth it. I never review items, but wish I hadnāt even hesitated with this one. There is a little sponge filter inside on the pump, looks like maybe itās to catch anything before going into the pump. I clean it every time it runs out. They give you spare, and i just around the 6 month mark replaced it. I would actually buy replacements, and Iām sure theyāre out there. But Iām sure cutting a small square from sponge would work if cut to fit right. Aside from that small wonder, I would recommend this to anyone who wants their cat to put clean water in their loved kitty. We have terrible water out here in the country of California. Just alot of minerals. I donāt want mine getting a kidney stone. š„ŗItās quite nice looking for what it is and the price. And the newer one is even more.Itās nice that the plug is a USB that can go into any block adapter.Thereās a convenient date wheel you place on the filter when you first attach. Keeps the date to replace perfectly in sight.I would say the ONLY real design feedback, maybe a future upgrade š Would be a little light indicator or maybe just turn off when the water is too low. Otherwise youāll just have to notice that itās not flowing. And I do let it go all the way down since I give him the same spring water I drink, and I wash it all the way every new bowl. Iād say the whole bowl lasts my 22 pound cat about two weeksI did not intend to write this much. But I will say that I never write these, it was such a good buy, I had to share 10 months later. āŗļøAmazing amazing amazing product. Iām not paid or offered anything for this. Just losing a little sleep writing it š I truly hope this helps. I spent a lot of time choosing and I think this was a great choice.

Not spill-proof
This is a very nice fountain and I would recommend to anyone who has a normal sane cat. Mine is obsessed with water and likes to find EVERY opportunity to make a mess. Most water fountains donāt work, because she finds a way to disassemble and make a mess. I just received this today and unfortunately it wonāt work for her. The waterfall piece moves, so if the cat paws and messes with it, moving it to the side, it leaks water EVERYWHERE. I gave five stars because itās not the businessās fault my cat is psychotic. If your cat is like mine, this fountain isnāt for you :(
