button to control light difficult for 98-yr-old
The single button control that turns light on and off and also controls light color choice and dimming is confusing and manually difficult for my 98-year-old mother who I bought this for. She can't get the hang of there being one way to push the button to turn the light on and off, and a different way to use the button for color change and dimming. She is constantly accidentally dimming the light to the point of darkness and not knowing how to get the light back again. There should be a separate button just for on-off. Other than that, the magnifier is fine and mom likes it when the light stays on

easy to use
My 91 yo father is blind in one eye and has extremely limited vision in the other eye. He is very pleased with this product! Now he can go through his mail and read the newspaper better than before. It is very affordable and easy to use.

Now I can read again...
Theer are few things more frustrating than not being able to read one's letters or statements which come in the mail and may or may not need attention. Having to wait for a third party to come to read and tell you what is in your mail can be very hard to live with. This magnifying glass is a perfect tool to overcome this situation. With slowly deteriorating eyesight I feel I have gone back some five or more in time when I could read with little or no problems. The 4x magnification helps a lot. I have tried several other magnifying lenses of different types and shapes, but none have worked for me as well as this device. The light is bright and appears to have three settings. The high setting permits reading fairly wellin a dark or low light room. In a well lit room, the light may not be needed depending on one's visual acuity. The light switch has had some criticism in other reviews. I haven't found that to be a problem so far. I think that os because the light switch is very sensitive; it only takes a very soft tap to move between the high, low and no light positions. The position of the switch in the side of the handle makes it easy to touch it unintentionally which can instantly switch it off or on.Overall, I am really glad I found this magnifying glass; for me it has become in many wasy a life saver.

No more eye strain-love it love it love it!
My husband got me some handheld, full page magnifying sheets that didn’t work. They made the page look dull & grey & we’re hard to adjust to see anything clearly. I was afraid this was going to be the same by some reviews I read and when I first took it out of the package, but it’s fantastic and exactly what I was looking for to read my Bible and other small print! I love the LED’s too, which help when I need them. The pictures I attached don’t even do it justice, the page is a lot clearer than even the pictures show. It’s like looking through clear glass but enlarged. I don’t know why others say they have had issues. I can see the whole page of my Bible without having to move it. I’ve been using it with the neck cord, which I don’t even really notice since the product is so light weight. I use it sitting in my recliner and sometime like to pull my knees up while reading, so I put a cord lock-stop on the cord so I can shorten it when needed. I have not had any problems seeing my pages clearly at any angle I have had them at. I keep it between 2”-4” off my page. Sometimes my overhead lamp makes some reflections on the bottom of the screen but nothing distracting or irritating. I love being able to read again without straining my eyes! I’ll but another one for my husband if he wants! I wish the usb cord was a bit longer, but my recliner has a usb hub, so it works fine.

Mostly love it
Quality, clear glass, different colors of light, all great. Love it. Those are perfect. It was a huge help for putting together a puzzle that had a million little photos on it. That we are now giving away because it was so effing hard.I’m right handed and the location of the button to shift through the color of light and or brightness, while convenient for my thumb, it’s actually too easy to get to because I turn it off and change colors unnecessarily on accident often. It’s been an adjustment to change how I hold it.It’s not a huge deal. Was a bit frustrating at first and we’ve since adjusted. Happy we have this magnifying glass.

touchy button
I got this for my father-in law who is elderly and has low vision. It is a quality product and does all it says, but the problem for us at least, was there is just one button to do all things and it is very touch sensitive. Compounding the touchiness situation is that the one button is pretty much right where you want your fingers to land just to hold and use the magnifying glass. As a product probably mostly for older people with some level of vision issues, it would be much better to have more like old fashioned switches/dimmer to use and to be able to fix the light setting the way you normally like it. Then you just turn the thing on and the lighting is what you want with the ability to adjust with a designated dimmer and color choice buttons that aren't where your fingers land to hold the magnifying glass.
