All synthetics not just athletic clothes
so little needed for a washload. Synthetics, everything, is super clean and fresh, with very little per washload. So it's also cost effective... for the best, no scent, really clean clothes.

It Works Very Well
On workout clothes that have run a 1/2 marathon, this gets them clean and fresh and is made to clean my running and cycling clothes. It works, I am happy

The only detergent for workout clothes
This is the only detergent that keeps my workout clothes from stinking (washed in cold, line dried). The only reason it's not 5 stars is the spout design. Other detergents typically have a feature to prevent dripping. This does not. It's very messy. Need to ensure it's ALL out of the cap before securing again (or don't use the cap to measure the detergent for your load)

Saved my workout wear!
I don't typically write reviews, but felt compelled to write one for Nathan's. I typically workout 5-6 times/week and so have a fairly large collection of performance wear. I had been using regular detergent for years without any problem, but over the past few months many of my wicking clothes (particularly the tops) started having that smell people often talk about (to me, it smelled like my cat had peed on my clothes - gross!). After washing them, the clothes seemed to be fine, but as soon as I started working out it would bring about this smell. I was about to just replace them, but thought I'd give one of these performance wear-specific detergents a try first. And I'm super-glad I did! After one wash in Nathan's all of my technical clothes are now back to normal. Here's what I did: I filled the washing with warm water, adding one capful of Nathan's (all of my workout clothes combined are about a medium sized load). I didn't add fabric softener because this apparently affects the wicking performance of the clothing and makes the Nathan's less effective. I stopped the cycle as soon as the machine was filled with water and let it soak for about 30 minutes. Then I just ran the normal cycle and dried everything (again, without drier sheets). I've tested all of the clothing by wearing them while working out and everything is back to normal. This stuff is magic!

Great for hand washing
I LOVE this stuff. I first bought it because my clothes were mysteriously coming out of the laundry still smelly. While it helped, it didn't solve that problem (see below for the solution), but I started hand washing clothes out of desperation, thinking my public laundry machines must be the problem. This stuff is amazing for hand washing! I do a final rinse, but it can be a much quicker rinse than needed for other detergents. And it does a great job with cleaning out gross sports wear. You can use a very little, and still have it work wonders - this is my second bottle in 2+ years. I'm really glad I can still find it here. Why my clothes were smelling - I eventually discovered the issue was that the tap water in my building was near freezing cold, including the stuff that went straight to my laundry machine. Most modern detergents work with "cold" water, but they define cold as 60 degrees F or higher. Mine was getting close to 32 degrees - eventually the pipes froze! So if your clothes start mysteriously getting smellier in the winter, you haven't developed super sweat (my first theory) - you might want to check the temperature of your machine's water.

Works great!
I use it mostly for our cycling and exercise clothing and have for several years now. Keeps the stink out!

Killer of funk
Okay, I bought this mainly because my mother kept starting loads of wash and forgetting to tell me it was in there, thus I would have every item of clothing I owned washed twice because I'd go to start a load, only to discover a now dry load in the wash. And the funk would not come out. It was awful. I tried home remedies, cleaning out the entire washer, switching brands of detergent, different fabric softeners. It was just covering the underlying funk. You would grab a clean shirt, it would pass the initial sniff, and 15 minute of wear, it would smell like a sweaty gym sock after running a marathon. Awful. So I tried this stuff. And the wash came out of the machine smelling like... nothing. Out of the dryer.. nothing. After wearing... nothing. Just neutral. No more funk. Funk free. No longer did my jeans smell like bog of eternal stench. My shirts were fragrance free and did not cause migraines from all the floral musk of detergents trying to cover the smell. Switched back to original detergent, no funk found. But I will keep this around for my athletic wear/swim wear and if the funk returns due to forgotten washloads.
