Works great right out of the box. Just set it to the temperature (C or F) that you want the electrical appliance that you've plugged into it to turn on and you're done! 😊

We have a couple of small heaters we use during the winter, we originally used timers but with the changing temperatures they aren't always reliable. We bought this so they could automatically turn on and off depending on the temperature and so far it's been great. The thermostat itself is a bit confusing but the manual does a great job in explaining how to set it up and we had it fully functioning within 5 minutes. You might need to calibrate the temperature before because we noticed it doesn't always pick up the same as other thermostats, but the instructions are clear about how to do it, just make sure to set it once the correct temperature is reached, otherwise it will keep trying to adjust and the temperature might be a little off.

This product is well made and the instructions are fairly easy to comprehend for me, a luddite. I just could not get it to do what I wanted it to do. I wanted it to turn on a small pump for one minute every 24 hours. But only if the temperature was above 40 degrees at the probe. I'm using it for another purpose so it's not a total loss for me. Perhaps it's just me not reading the instructions correctly?

As other buyers commented: the manual is confusing and not quite helpful. It jumps around different features, touching functionalities without actually explaining them.Although I am quite savvy with electronics and programming, I still find the usability (buttons, display, feedback) almost user-hostile.Even the placement of '+' and '-' buttons are reversed, to confuse things even more (see attached photos).That is: great concept, very good build, great LCD display. But poor user interface, non-intuitive and difficult to program.I wrote directly to them asking for help (a video tutorial, or a hopefully better written manual. Let's see what they'll sayEdit March 25 2023: Not even an acknowledgment from manufacturer. Basically: “just figure it out yourself, mate”

I wanted to use this in the van to turn on a heater when it's freezing or close to it. I set the probe near a thermometer I know works but the reading was off on this. The probe was about 3 feet away from the unit. It was about a 10 degree difference. While it is easy to set the running temps I was having a tough time trying to figure out what to set it for since it didn't match the actual temperature.

Seems better options out there. Might work for what you need.

the settings only show in Celsius making it confusing for us in the US.

You just need to take time to learn it.Fit needs perfectly.Documentation typical poor.
