Good value for money
I have had a number of cues over the years and at just under £35 this cue appeared well made and balanced for a 50/50 2 piece cue.The cue weighed in at 507g and had a balance point around 98cm (38.5 inches). With the front shaft being 72.5cm long with a brass joint and having a total length of 145cm, meaning the butt length was 72.5cm.The wood chevron finish was nicely aligned with the rear “notch” which is good an can assist in better cueing. Whilst the butt finish is in a metallic blue colour, which looks and feels nice as well. The tip needed shaping, as do most cues, and that only takes about 10 minutes.Playing with the cue it felt comfortable in my grip hand and suited my medium size hands i.e. the diameter of the butt accommodated a medium size hand.It sounded positive on ball strike and the tip gave a good reaction to both top-spin and screw shotsThe shaft had been sanded to a good degree and was not heavily lacquered like some cues can be. So was smooth in action and I believe would also be smooth in action when playing in the summer in hotter temperatures. The tip size of 9.5 is what I normally play with, however this may be a little large for Pool playing and more suited to snooker as the cue ball is larger (The cue ball on English Pool is 1 7/8 inch with object balls of 2 inches and Snooker balls (all) are 2 1/16 inches)For pool I would play with a 8 to 8.5mm tip.
