Wasn't sure how effective these would be but I decided to give them a try. I don't have super ronchy feet but after a while my gym shoes and work shoes that I wear every day start to get a funk to them. I bought new pairs of both near the start of the year and from the beginning put these in them at all times whenever my feet weren't in them. Months later my shoes are still stank free! My system is to place them in my shoes overnight then take them out in the morning when I put my shoes on for the day and out them on the windowsill. When I come home at the end of the day I'll take them off the windowsill and back in the shoes they go. This has been a recipe for success.

Earlier in the year I got a treadmill to start getting back into shape. I have a pair of running shoes set aside specifically for use on the treadmill. I started noticing a slight smell from the shoes around May. I figured being worn 4 or 5 times a week, maybe I needed to get a second pair to rotate between use to let them thoroughly dry. In June, I started noticing a smell in the shoes again, so started looking into ways to keep the smell at bay and ensure they were free of any fungus that could cause problems with my feet. This was especially important as i'm now running 5 miles every day on the treadmill. I saw these bamboo charcoal bags rated highly, so I decided to give them a try. They arrived quickly through amazon prime. Following the instructions included, I left the individual bags in the sun for a few hours to "activate" the charcoal. I then place a pair in each of my shoes. After just a few days, I noticed the shoes had no smell at all. Seriously, no smell, I put them right up to my face and nothing. It has been over a month now they still work great. The instructions indicate to put the bags back in the sun for a few hours once a month to refresh the charcoal. I've done that once so far and no issues or smells to comment on. They seem to be working great. The package had a bunch of them included, so i gave some to my wife to put in her shoes as well. I'm very happy with the outcome of this product and highly recommend them.

I would have rated my first order of 12 as a five star product. They were full. They seemed to work well when charged properly. Then, I ordered more...yuck. They have gotten cheap. The second 12 seemed half as full. They do work similarly, but I have to charge them more often, and I have to put two in some larger shoes.

We have not had a day of sunshine since receiving. Instruction say needs sun to activate. So waiting.

We bought our shoe cabinet for our entryway for the family. Between my husband and son, we needed some sort of smell solution 🥴. These are excellent and no more limgering smell! Highly recommend!

I am updating my review - somehow I had originally received a faulty product, but this wonderful company sent me a replacement and it is PERFECT - no bad smell at all. I really like this product and it really works for me. I use it in all my shoes and even socks!Below is the old review, and the company and the product have since then redeemed themselves to me as a customer!!!!!I just opened a package I purchased in early August and these smell like a very nasty chemical. I put them in socks and shoes and they both ended up smelling the same nasty smell.I have used products like these before and have NEVER had this problem. And, sadly, since it is past the 30 day return policy, I am unable to return them, and will not be able to use them.I wish the sellers would honor a return, but I can't find a link to communicate with them. HELP!

I was a bit skeptical that these could eliminate the smell on my work boots but they truly stood up to the task. One caveat, they're not going to work overnight (at least not in my case). I started with one in each boot and left them overnight and was disappointed that the next day it was the same odor. I decided to add an extra pack to each boot and then waited a day and the smell had diminished but not gone away entirely. After a week or so the smell was finally gone and stayed gone as long as I left the two packets. Now as soon as I get home from work I put two packets in and the boots are odor free the next morning. Would recommend these to anyone.

The instructions that came with it said to leave the satchels in the sun for 6-8 hours. I did that and then left them in my shoes overnight, but they did not help with the odor. I've tried three times and no improvement. I would return them, but it feels gross to return something that I've put inside smelly shoes, so I'm counting it as a total loss.
