Nice lighter
The lighter looks nice and seems to be well made. I have only used it a couple of times so I don’t know how long a charge will last for. As far as actually lighting anything with it I can’t say that it is the easiest to use though. I tried to light my friend’s cigarettes for her and it took several tries to finally get the entire cigarette to light. Other than that I haven’t used it for anything else. I’m hoping it will work well for lighting candles as that was the purpose I purchased it for. For the money I spent compared to what some other ones cost this seems like it was a good purchase for the money

Fun to use
I would rate this 4 1/2 stars. It charges quickly. Is actually fun to use (for some reason I am fascinated by the arc). It works great in the wind although, if it's too windy, it lights a candle but the wind blows out the flame (not the product's fault. Blame the wind). I minus a half star because if you're trying to light a candle and the wick is embedded in the cold wax this will not work. Since there is no flame to melt the wax surrounding the wick it cannot light it. I needed to use an old fashioned flame stick. While this isn't a design flaw, it's an annoyance.

Great for Camp Stoves
Bought this, in part, based on the advertised use for candles but getting the wick between the two prongs at the business end is a bit fiddly. Same goes for lighting fires. WHERE IT REALLY EXCELS is lighting my propane stove in my travel trailer (the manual piezio-lighter built into the stove has become unreliable). It's nice to just recharge as needed than to have a butane lighter run out so you need to run to the store. This is also MUCH EASIER to light that a half-full butane lighter. I don't use it much so haven't needed to recharge yet. Very pleased.

No need for lighters anymore - this is the best!
This lighter is the best. It lights candles, kindling for fire, anything! It is safer than a lighter and the charge on this lasts for a very long time. It has a safety in place - you can only light it when the tip/lighter end is out. When you don't want to use it, retract the end so you cannot accidentally turn it on. I have been using this for over a year and anticipate I will use it for many more years and will not need lighters again.

I would recommend this, it works much better than a normal fuel based lighter.
I would recommend this, it works much better than a normal fuel based lighter. This works great, even in wind! Welll, ok even with me blowing on it as hard as I can inside! I'll update once I get a chance to test in actual wind if it doesn't do as well. It does kind of make the arc flare out but it isn't a case of "blowing out" like a normal fuel based lighter would, it would still be able to catch things on fire even in wind. We got it mainly for camping and lighting charcoal for the outdoor grill, it works great. I was tired of having to always get new lighters when the fuel runs out on traditional lighters. Also used it for a recent birthday to light the candles, one of the candles had the wick kind of buried in the candle. This was able to melt through the wax and light the wick in just a few seconds. Also used it to light an incense stick, it lit right away no problem.Definitely keep it away from kids as the cool looking arc it makes is very fun looking (not to mention fire, kids love catching things on fire)... That kind of goes without saying though. It does require 2 actions to light, push the slider up then push on a button hidden under the slider. Once you know the trick it's easy to use.

Really Works! Awesome.
Got this "wind proof" lighter and I have to say it works. I put it to the test by lighting it in front of a fan, blowing as hard as I could, etc. and it still worked. It will not work if you put it over a very thick piece of paper or cardboard as it can't make a connection to arc, but regardless of thickness if you just work on the sides it will light.I actually waited a week of extensive using this before I posted and I'm still quite pleased. The only con I can put out is it does build up some carbon from the heat it generates but I used a dry "fingernail" brush on it and cleaned it up. But even dirty it didn't seem to effect the sparking to set fires. I used it to burn my trash, (the stuff that doesn't go to the dump) light candles, set off fireworks for the New Year, etc. Love it!!The best part is it's rechargeable so you don't have to carry or purchase extra batteries. It actually lights my candle wicks faster than my lighter does and doesn't melt the surrounding wax to do it, nor have flames coming back up toward my hand while trying to light them.Awesome! Glad I got it.
