Make sure you tighten the pencil holder.

Great tool
I use this on my pottery projects that get an accurate line and it’s the perfect tool. If I could change anything it would be to make the top be able toTurn to use sideways

No instructions included
Scales don't line up with pencil. with bearings on edge of wood, scale doesn't measure distance to pencil. Suggestion,if you eliminate the mm scale and add a scale showing the distance from the bearings to the pencil holder center, it would allow you to get an accurate measurement utilizing the bearings to the pencil. Right now I don't see any way to utilize the bearing to the pencil using the scales

Beautiful tool but…
It is a beautiful tool and would be absolute best, however the pencil holder is over engineered and does not hold the pencil tightly and is different than on the picture. The compression threat on the holder is slipping and the pencil keeps sliding under light pressure which makes the whole tool useless. Also the main shaft with scale does not have a fixing truck and whole assembly makes it difficult to adjust the depth of offset as it twists left and right freely the moment you loosen a brass screw. Also, the scale is metric only.

Paid for new got used.
Might have been a good tool to have, but if you pay new prices you should get new merchandise. NOT USED MERCHANDISE!! The third time it has happen.
