Love this one too
I absolutely love anything to do with the Lancaster bomber the spitfire or the hurricane even the Vulcan bomber. If it weren’t for these aircraft we would not be living like we are

a superb book
bought this for my son he was very pleased with it and gave him a good idea about the experience his grandad had when he flew with the Lancasters in the second world war

Most of the combatants were virgins; the odds against surviving were massive.
As someone who by the grace of god was not old enough to be conscripted into any of the UK's wars I can only feel exceptionally fortunate that all my experiences of death and bereavement come via the written page. The vast numbers of all the combatants seem to have been in their late teens and their life experiences were via steam radio and the cinema screen.

Very detailed, informative book.
I liked this book a lot. I've read a lot of books about the Lancaster, but this has information and images I've never seen before. There's a good amount of history of how the aircraft came into being, what it could do. The crews, there positions in the aircraft. Then much about the missions and bomber command itself. Also included the politics of the time and gives a very balanced view. I found it a great all round book on what was without any doubt the best bomber of WW2. Definitely one for those who are interested in the subject, to who I would thoroughly recommend 👌
