Vitruvi Stone Diffuser, Ceramic Ultrasonic Essential Oil Diffuser for Aromatherapy (White)

This is our second diffuser. We have this one by Vitruvi, and we also own one manufactured by Young Living, which you can find here:  Young Living Essential Oil Home Ultrasonic Diffuser with Dew Drop Design Tear Drop . This review will be a comparison between the two. We use them both almost daily.First and most important, they both function very well as aroma diffusers. They each perform this function by ultrasonic technology (not heating), and they both have an automatic shut-off once they go dry. They can also each function only as a small humidifier if you prefer to only use them in that way.They also both have a light, but the light on the one from Young Living has more of an ambient quality to it. The light feature on the Vitruvi is more of what I would define as a basic nightlight. If you want something that is more “mood setting,” say for the bedroom, then I like the light provided by the Young Living option the best. (see photo)Each one can function without the light being on, but what I like about the Vitruvi design is that the light has a completely separate button, so you can use it only as a nightlight should you prefer. With the Young Living model, you press the on-off button once for the light and the diffuser to come on, press it again and the light goes off but the diffuser stays on, press it again and everything shuts off.Another selling point for me for the Vitruvi model is that you can have it work as a diffuser in intervals. You press the power button once and it will turn green and will run continually for around three hours (the Young Living diffuser will run for about an hour longer). You press it again and it will turn amber and will work in intervals of around 30 seconds, and with this setting it will run for around seven hours. Press it again and it powers off. Again, the on-off button for the light is completely separate.As far as the design and build quality, both are about the same height, but the Young Living design is wider, and aptly named on the manual as “Dewdrop Diffuser.” The Vitruvi is also aptly named “Stone Diffuser,” because the outer casing is made of thick porcelain. It is fairly heavy, has a much more solid feel. and just a more luxurious look to it than does the Vitruvi design.Both come with detailed, easy to follow instructions.I do highly recommend the Vitruvi Stone Diffuser. It is clearly of high quality and I think the fact that you can set it to diffuse intermittently is a major plus factor.If things change as we continue to use it, I will update this review and I am happy to answer any questions you may have. I had written earlier that I was disappointed when the diffuser we loved stopped working after 5 months. When I contacted Vitruvi customer service, Simone, Director of Customer Experience, quickly replied that a new diffuser would be sent immediately as they would always honor their warranty. As a result, I give Vitruvi 5 stars for a great product and most importantly, excellent customer service. The new diffuser was received within a few days.

I purchased my Vitruvi Stone Diffuser 3 months ago and loved everything about it, while it worked. It stopped working last week, just 3 months after purchase, which has left me SO DISAPPOINTED! Returns via Amazon are only accepted for one month after purchase. For such a high price point, I never imagined it would die within 3 months of purchase. Furthermore, I would have expected more integrity from Vitruvi & Amazon to honor returns/exchanges for merchandise with manufacture defects, for longer than one month from the date of purchase (6 months- 1yr seems fair). I splurged on this item and unfortunately now, I simply regret this purchase. My main complaint is that it just stopped working after a few months. I have another diffuser and it fills the entire room with a refreshing aroma and it cost 25$. This one was significantly more expensive and it was never able to fully fill the rooms air. It’s very sleek, minimal and beautiful. The fact that it stopped working after a few months is simply unacceptable considering the price tag.

I did a ton of research before buying a diffuser. There are so many available and really different price points so I wanted to pick the one that would function flawlessly and look nice - not look like a plastic spaceship. There were cheaper options than the Vitruvi, but they all looked really cheap. When my diffuser arrived, I wasn't disappointed... it was beautifully packaged and has a nice weight to it. It is smaller than the others I had seen in person which is wonderful, it takes up way less space. It looks like a lovely little vase, not too modern, not too classic. It functions flawlessly and really puts out a nice amount of aroma. The lights are unobtrusive and only on one side, so I have it turned so the lights aren't visible at all. The sound is a very minimal, soft, pleasant water gargle and hum. I am so impressed, I bought a second one for my office.

I was so excited to use my diffuser the day it arrived— got shipped to my house in one piece and was very speedy delivery. This is a very classy looking diffuser that goes great with the decor in my house— it’s white, stone, and somewhat discreet. It’s not too big so it doesn’t look bulky in a room, but it’s also not too small where it doesn’t diffuse the scent throughout the space. It was very easy to set up, and my favorite feature about this whole thing, aside from the looks, is that it is very quiet! Great purchase!

Why I like it better than my old diffuser:1. 3-hour continuous setting AND a 7.5-hour intermittent setting (I put it on when I fall asleep, and it turns off just as I wake up).2. It does't take up too much space on my bed-side table (it's tall and narrow, opposed to the short and wide options out there).3. The gentle white light makes a great nightlight, but I love the option to completely turn it off.4. It comes with small spouted cup that makes it easy to pour water in to the reservoir.5. Plastic components are BPA free.6. I don't really care what it looks like, but the stone cover does look pretty nice.

Boy I really got stung on this purchase and no recourse. A monstrous waste of expensive diffuser oil. After 2 months it started acting erratic shutting off after an hour or two use. In the morning diffuser container would be 4/5ths full of milky water/oil mix. Nice looking, but the diffuser unit is unreliable junk

PROS:The diffuser works well and is extremely quiet while running. The two timer features are convenient for selecting different run times, and you can turn the diffuser off before the timer ends by pressing the button again. Another neat feature is that you can choose to have the light on, off or dimmed - this button is separate so it is available while the diffuser is off or running.CONS:The diffuser will run for a full 8hr cycle or two full 4hr cycles, but will need to be refill after that. This is an unfortunate side effect of the diffusers tank size, but I suppose it is convenient for anyone who likes to change the type of oils often. While it is simple to refill the tank, it is slightly inconvenient that the tank is attached to the base and the diffuser must therefore be unplugged each time it is taken to be refilled. The only other negative aspect is the texture of the cover - the matte black has a nice appearance at first but is very difficult to clean as everything will stick to it (you'll notice light coloured marks on the cover in my picture, left by my fingers when lifting the cover off to clean). I found that the only way to successfully clean the cover is to run it under water then leave it to air dry.Overall, I use this product often and would definitely purchase it again. Good quality for the price.

Wow. This was exactly what I was looking for. It brings a little extra class to any room you put it in. I move this around from my home office to the living room, to the foyer. It's absolutely silent, simple to use, and emits the perfect stream of aromatherapy. I have quite a selection of essential oils, I blend them depending on my mood. To make sure I always get the perfect aroma that I want. Right now I'm fixated on floral scents, but in the winter I can't wait to blend up some Christmas blends. I make sure to wash out the basin with a tsp of vinegar and 1/3cup of water into the basin and let it sit for a little bit. Once rinsed and dried it's ready to use again. I recommend this product.

I opted for this because it was a bit cheaper than a similar product from a franchise and boasted 8-hour run time. However the 8 hour timer doesn't mean much when the water reservoir only holds enough water for a couple hours. It's beautiful but have to refill often and when you refill you have to remove the stone cover then the water reservoir lid which is a small inconvenience but more work that other products I've had.
