I was super worried when our canister bottom latch broke and the Dyson website replacement part was out of stock for months. I was skeptical when I purchased an off-brand replacement, but it worked out great! Ordering more to keep on hand (I have several of the older Dyson cordless vacuums and they don't seem to make a lot of the parts anymore).

This cover bin assembly fit the Dyson S04. The seal is not as tight as the original one so I took the seal from the original bin cover and put it on the new one and it works great.

I hated our Dyson. This stupid little door always flapped open and would dump dust EVERYWHERE. If you're looking at this review - you know what I mean. Buy this, right now. It's 1,000 times better than the 4th rubber band you had holding yours closed. You know.... the big fat one you stole from work because all the rest kept breaking. Yeah. Buy this door.
