Wasp nest prevention
These are easy to assemble. They look like hornet nests and seem to keep wasps from building nests. Thumbs up on these.

Wasps went inside
So, we knocked down the nests on our porch and hung one of these. No new nests were built inside our porch. But on the outside of the porch there are nests. The wasps are curious, and spend all day going inside the fake nest. They called our bluff. But over time, it worked well.

Great Quality - Hopeful They Work!
They seem to be made of quality material, and were easy to set up. Now we wait to see if they work. The hornets were HORRIBLE last year.

Did not repell wasps
These would be great because they are made from a water resistant material , but they did nothing to deter wasps building nests under our patio. Maybe because they’re not paper like material?

These really seem to work
In late summer we can't sit in the hot tub or on our patio without being swarmed by yellow jackets and paper wasps. Wasp traps only get like 5% of them and I don't really want to kill them anyway. So I hung 4 of these around our yard (used shepards hooks). I have to say that it seemed to make a big difference. We still get a few wasps but at least 80% fewer, and no new nests in they yard. When they do show up they seem to come and go quickly so its no longer impossible to eat outside. Best of all, I found wasps building a nest inside a gap on our siding. No matter how I sprayed or sealed it they kept coming back and trying to get in there... So I hung one of these nearby and the next day they were gone and never came back. I've read you can use a stuffed paper lunch bag to do mostly the same thing but the benefit to these is they are water proof and won't get ruined in the weather or rain. Cheap enough to be well worth it.

Good quality for the price
I got these out of desperation because wasps love to make nests in my PVC railings. It happens every year at the start of summer. I usually spray them with Raid and pray they leave and never come back. I despise having to use toxic chemicals because I have children, pets, gardens, and love other wildlife. However, this year they were especially bad. I’m allergic to bees, have dogs with big hearts, yet teeny tiny brains that make them believe it’s a good idea to chase and bite at bugs with stingers, and I keep my child’s inflatable pool and water table on the deck to play in out of direct sun. We couldn’t even go on the deck because there were so many wasps coming in and out of the railings and posts. So, I did some research and found that decoy nest can help prevent them from returning. Please note: these will NOT make them leave. But, they will prevent them from coming back or new wasps/bees/hornets from making new nests nearby. So, I did have to spray a few cans of Raid, hopefully for the last time, to kill them and get them to leave. They weren’t happy the next morning, which was a good sign. Whatever survivors that were left, fled in a pissed off fury and I haven’t seen any wasps in the following days. I ordered these and they arrived 2 days after I sprayed.A lot of the negative reviews claim these don’t work, but that’s because they put them up after nests were already established. This is purely preventative. I will have these up until late fall, then put them back up in the spring. Hopefully I won’t ever have to use toxic Raid again if these can ward off the wasps from making my deck and railings their home. They are made of a polyester type fabric, so they should withstand rain and the elements more so than other paper ones I found. For the price, there’s not much to lose. You just have to plan accordingly and put them up before the real Hymenoptera show up. They also look like lanterns, so they aren’t a huge eye sore.

Works great! Not a gimmick
Few things are fixed simply by some odd gadget, but this is my second round of using nest decoys in a wasp heavy area, and they work! Specifically my front porch has a roof, and right over the door is a popular spot they always build.. the first time, I killed the nests, put the decoy up, they never came back. after a couple years the decoy finally gave up, not long afterward I had another nest there. Back patio same story, except this is where my grills are, and they nest inside those big time. First time decoy back there blew away (my fault), after a month or so I had new residents.. paper wasps. 2nd round of decoys are up, and I've included a 3rd side of the house. Several months in and not a single nest. Most important bit of advice, is to very meticulously remove any nests in the area. They won't abandon their current domicile.. the decoys convince them not to build. I personally believe good sight lines are important. If they can't see the nest, it won't have an effect. I don't know how far this effect goes, but I do make sure there's a lot of angles and opportunities for them to see the nest, especially in the problem areas.
