POWEROAK Portable Power Solar Generator ( Lithium-ion, 400Wh, Lightest weight, Smallest, Recharged by SUN, AC, Car)

After searching for a while we purchased the the MAXOAK 400Wh Portable Power Solar Generator because it had the right inputs and outputs for our needs. We are field scientists and used the MAXOAK Solar Generator in the field and tested it at home to power a variety of devices from laptops (using the AC connections), tablets and smartphones using DC to field GPS units and to recharge camera batteries using AC. This unit has all the right input and output connections including 4 5V USB (2 each of 1 A and 2.1 A), 1 x 12 V DC, 2x 120 V AC output (with separate DC and AC switches) as well as provided AC, 12 V DC and Solar inputs (no panel included). Amazingly it also has a 12 V DC high amperage jump start capability (I haven't yet tested this).After charging one laptop, 3 camera batteries, 1 iPad pro, two smartphones and several GPS units it still had > 40% of the power left and I was able to recharge the unit in less than three hours of direct sunlight with an 80w solar panel we already had at our field camp. At home I continuously charged all the devices we had until it ran out of power, and was able to about double the above performance.The MAXOAK unit is relatively small, lightweight and unassuming and fits nicely under the seat in our field vehicle. For the power it can store, the convenience of all the inputs and outputs we need and the relatively lower cost compared to less capable units we highly recommend this product.Spring 2020 Update — STILL GOING STRONG — used for two summers and stored for two winters now (at intermediate state of charge) and the MAXOAK unit while being charged with two 100w solar panels (in parallel) is simultaneously able to power a MacBook pro, multiple cell phones, gps, miscellaneous lithium ion and NiMH batteries, as well as our new Engel MT45 refrigerator all day long. As long as we end the sunny part of the day with a full state of charge the refrigerator (acting as a freezer) can last well into the next day when the sun returns (field tested > 16 hours for Engel MT45 set to 5 degrees F with ~20% SOC left at 72 degrees F constant ambient temperature)!

Excellent generator - I really like the extra cables it comes with. You're saving a good amount without having to purchase these separate. When you receive the unit, make sure to plug it in immediately and test some electronics. The one I received seems to be really good quality and super lightweight so taking it in to charge via wall charger will be easy, if necessary.I purchased 2 HQST Monocrystalline panels for a great deal. I'm currently pulling a max of about 128Wh with both combined, which is pretty much perfect for this unit (it's supposed to only go up to 120Wh). They're mounted to the top of my van using the HQST Z Brackets.One thing to note is that you MUST purchase the connector adapter (most people use parallel connectors - M/FF and F/MM). I also purchased a 10 guage 10ft extension cable wire so my battery would fit anywhere in my van!Very satisfied with this purchase :)

This is an amazing product. I used it to power my Denon DJ controller and (later) my laptop for a gig. (It’s under the table on the left) I am amazed at the power it provides for its (small) size and (light) weight. I ran my laptop on battery power for 2 hrs until it dropped to 25%. Then I plugged it into the charger and It fully charged the laptop and after 4 hours of use, the charger was at 60%. The floor stand speakers and the center speaker in the picture are rechargeable and have their own power supply that power it for 6-8 hrs, even at max volume. I estimate I could DJ anywhere there is no power for about 8-10 hrs if I needed to. Realistically, all I need is 3-5 hrs and I’m well within that range. Overall I’m EXTREMELY happy with this purchase and since I live in a sunny place, I’m going to buy the solar panel accessory. The seller was amazing and sent me a freebie due to a shipping delay as a thank you for my patience and understanding. Get one today!!!

Excellent product. All functionality of product except solar panel input tested successfully. I use this portable power system to charge several different laptops, an iPad 2, two other tablets, and several cell phones and no problems or issues with unit. Very pleased with this product. Currently doing research to find the best solar panel to function with this PPS. Overall satisfaction 100%.

I like the idea of not having to pay for electrical hookups at craft fairs, so I willingly popped out $350 for this product. In less than 5 months though, it stopped working. When I would plug in the charger to the unit, it would throw sparks. then it wouldn't charge. It charged fine the first few times I used it, then it wouldn't charge at all. And now I am unable to find the user manual (my fault), so I came back to Amazon to try and find the contact information for the manufacturer (PowerOak). But that is just another dead end. So I am out $359.00 and have a used boat 12 pound anchor.

Love this battery, used for off grid lighting while camping, charging phones, and anything else we need

I bought this in November to use when camping. They did not include the car charger. I would love to change my review to reflect 5 stars but it was incomplete and didn't include everything listed. I have written them twice I'm hoping they respond to my latest message!

Got this in and it performed well twice. After the second use, refused to charge. Will no longer charge past one battery bar. Now only power it will provide is pass through.

The product is from the original PowerOak. The seller is genuine. The product performs very well - exactly as advertised in the specifications.I checked the input AC charging with the character provided. I also checked the discharging through DC load and AC load - all work as per specification. It’s a great portable UPS.The first reviewer who assessed its duration as deficient doesn’t realize the inductive load like fans have on 50% power factor.I strongly recommend this product.
