It's Just OK
If you don't own any type of conversation starter book or cards, this is a great start. However, if you already have any type of resource for family conversation starters, don't buy this one as it will just be repetitive of what you already have. There are already so many related products out on the market. Not sure why the authors saw a need for another. There is nothing about this book that sets it apart from others already published. The majority of the questions are not conducive to much conversation. For example:What is your favorite toy? Favorite candy?Which country would you like to go on vacation to?Pick one of the following aromas that makes you say "Aaahhh"? (coffee, leather, fresh baked brownies, fresh cut Christmas tree, etc.)Of whom would you like to have an autographed photo? There were only a few questions that triggered some fun conversation at our table:What are some things that should go in a time capsule that will be opened 100 years from now?Pick any room in your home. Using your imagination, how would you like to remodel, redecorate, and/or furnish the room?I prefer a card format as it is easier to store and transport around. We enjoy the Table Topics To Go card sets. The cost is double of this book and has half the number of questions but the cards are very heavy duty and contained in a strong plastic case. But again, the majority of the questions are too simple to answer.I also recommend Pocket Ungame. The questions are far more probing and stimulating of discussion. It has a wonderful mix of light-hearted questions with serious topics.I am looking for conversation starters that are more opinion oriented regarding issues and ethics in order to get my kids thinking for themselves and listening to others' ideas that may differ from their own. Any suggestions other than writing my own?

Taking back family time one question at a time!
I got these to use with my 9 year old as conversation starters during tea time. He has difficulty making friends and finding things to talk about, so I thought it would be great practice. We ended up going around in a circle after dinner and take turns, both my son, my husband and myself. The questions are thought provoking- the answers anything from hilarious to deep and meaningful. If you are looking for a way to share experiences and grow your family bonds by talking, this is a fantastic tool. For those who are familiar with the 5 Love Languages, I am far from being a โbabbling brookโ. I have a very hard time opening up and talking, and this has opened a door for me to work on my own communication skills while teaching my child too.

Shocked how well my kids loved this. 10 and 15 year olds. They ask for it every night at dinner
Really good conversation starters. I was surprised how welly 10 year old and 15 year old really enjoyed this book at our dinner conversations. They take turns asking the questions. Highly recommend

A mixed bag- in a good way
The questions are good- a very good mix of questions about family dynamics, faith and life, and chances to give affirmation.Make sure you know whether you are getting cards or just a book of questions. I bought the book, but cards can be more user friendly.

Nice quality cards, some Christian religion themed.
Nice quality cards and many good family conversation starters questions for the most part. As another reviewer mentioned, there is a distinctly Christian religious theme to some cards ( not all, maybe 5-10%) ie: New Testament bible verse references or references to biblical stories. This may or may not be what you are looking for so just be aware.

Great for most conversation
Trying to talk to my husband during deployments is sometimes challenging when we run out of things to talk about. This is a great conversation booster for us when we still want to talk and have just run out things to talk about. I took one star off because some of the conversation starters didn't really work for us and we had to pass them up, but really, most of these are great for getting to know your family better! If you want one particularly for spouses, there's also a 101 Conversation book for spouses, along with a sequel. I'd definitely recommend these!

A must have for family dinner time!
These are awesome for family dinners. Each card asks interesting questions to discuss. My kids ask for us to pull the cards out whenever we have dinner. One time My kids were eating alone and my oldest son pulled the questions out to ask his little brothers. Really fun!

Should say "religious conversation starters for families"
Quite a number are very religious or deep. I like the concept of the cards but was looking for something a bit more light-hearted to start conversations around the table. Very American.

Estrechando lazos familiares
Me encantan los planteamientos que te hacen, realmente pocas veces se habla de esos temas, ayudan a pasar un momento agradable y a conocer mejor a cada integrante de la familia.Llegaron bien protegidas y es un material resistente.

sample = 10 questions
Nice questions for children from 10 years on and adults.I didn't see the sampler thing at first, therefore I'm a bit disappointed.
