Medical-Surgical Nursing Certification Exam Review: Pearls of Wisdom

Provides rapid review of good info in Q & A format. This is what works for me so I absolutely love it.If you need the info elaborated in detailed paragraphs or if you are looking for practice test questions, move on because this is soooo not that.

This is a good book for studying the Med-Surg Cert. exam. The rationales help re-enforce the test question information. This book was ordered for a friend and colleague who saw me using it and she wanted one too.

This book was very helpful for reviewing for the certification exam. What I didn't like about it is that there were no rationales given and only the correct answer was given. The real test is multiple choice therefore I think that book should be too.

This book was perfect and right as the description stated. Reviewed the book and on 1/20/16 passed my boards. Thank you so much.

I don't know what I was doing......I ALWAYS read reviews, but I must've been blinded by the 3000 questions-----since I was looking for a book with nothing but questions. To sum it up: this book sucks. Not to mention, it's WAY overpriced. Not only is it not in test format, but the questions are so vague they're meaningless for the most part. It's really more of a review written in bullet form. These questions are nothing like what you will really face, and HELLO??? I'm taking the med-surg cert, not telemetry so the entire first chapter is filled with useless information for me because it gets way too complex with it's information. My plan is to read it, write down any relevant info I might happen to obtain (however unlikely that may be) and then work from the book I have that IS nothing but questions "Med-Surg Success: A Course Review Applying Critical Thinking to Test Taking (Davis's Q&a Series)", which you can buy on here for less than $40 PLUS it comes with a CD with even more questions on it. This stupid thing was $30 and not even worth the paper it's printed on.

This book will help me to study for the certification exam. It is very direct in its coverage of the systems and problems.

While there is a lot of good information in this book, it leads one to believe that it is made up of thousands of question/answer type pages. While it does offer the question, and then the answer, it is not in a test format. There is no multiple choice, it is just the question, followed by the answer. Not a great study tool for a test when professional test organizers suggest that the best way to study is to do many multiple choice test questions which is the format for the test.

Like others say, it only has questions and answers. not interesting at all. It might be helpful if you use this finishing review all other med/surg books, but I wouldn't recommend this.
