I've bought several different brands over the years and Bee Castle really ranks up there as the best. I especially like their waxed wooden ware. This bottom board is first class with its excellent grade of pine, waxed for longevity and solid construction. Well worth the money.

I ordered the 10 frame, they shipped me the 8. I didn’t look too hard at what I got until I went and put it under the hive. Oops, hive to big. Now it had my attention. Got online with Amazon returns set it up for pick up and a replacement bottom screen board, that’s for a 10 frame. I’m not upset or even slightly mad, I’m a rookie at beekeeping in fact this is my first hive. So they sent my replacement in like two days, faster than the first one. So I have nothing bad to say, they fixed the problem fast no question. That’s why 5 stars. Oh by the way only thing I can comment on is the construction of the board looks real solidly built, no defects in the wood shoot even the corners where 90 degrees. Both Amazon and Beecastle did great.

The pull out board is very flimsy, only lasted one season even though it’s covered from elements/weather. My husband was able to replace that board. The putter frame and metal mesh is good.

I have been very happy with the overall quality of these BeeCastle products. The Deep Boxes, Top, and Bottom Boards are all well made. I have a bunch of very happy bees right now. As the temperature has risen as we move into the Summer months, this screened board has allowed by colony to maintain an optimum temperature inside the hive.

I ordered two of these for my beehives because the ones that came with the hives are usually useless after two seasons in snow and rain. I have only had these ones for about a month and it hasn’t been warm enough to pull my hives apart and see how they’re doing. But from the outside they look like they’re holding up so far! My only complaint is that the slot where the entrance reducers go is just a little too big so the entrance reducers that came with them and the ones I have, don’t fit properly so they slide around and get pushed into the hive when trying to place an entrance feeder. Other than that, so far these bottom boards are working well but time will tell if they hold up to Alaskan rain storms and Alaskan winters.

I'm really happy with this purchase and plan on buying more.The dimensions fit a standard 10 frame perfectly. It comes assembled so all you have to do it put it under the hive. The wood is generously coated in wax, giving the appearance of a beautiful honey color.

I have 2 hives, and these are so great, I bought 2 for both hives!! I the hive beetles will fall down onto the bottom board and are unable to get back into the hives. I would recommend to anyone that lives where it's fairly warm to very hot, it lets a good circulation thru the hives, so the honeybees don't get too hot and keeps the small hive beetle from getting back up into the hive!!! A MUST HAVE!!!!!!!
