My last lengthy, detailed, and comprehensive review was deleted by Amazon because it contained a link to the manufacturer's website talking about the efficacy of various concentrations of this product on various pathogens.So yeah, that sucks, so here's the short version.The standard 1 tablet in 1 gallon creates a 200 ppm solution that kills most common kitchen bacteria that make people sick and does not need to be rinsed off after use. Just dip items or spray items and let them dry. It is food contact safe.If you are wanting to kill human viruses, especially coronaviruses like COVID-19, then you need to up the strength to at least 600 ppm. If you want to make a small batch to use to spray down surfaces, then here is what I do. I put 2 tablets in a 2 liter soda bottle filled with clean water. This creates a 757 ppm concentration solution, which is more than enough to nuke everything, including coronaviruses. Also, 1 tablet in a 1 liter bottle gives you the same concentration.You can keep this solution until it is used up - it does not lose effectiveness.One caveat, you must rinse or wipe away this concentrated solution off of surfaces before contacting food. No biggie - you can just rinse with water or wipe with a paper towel. This stuff dissolves in water, so it is easy to clean off. It's not really that toxic to humans and doesn't smell or affect your skin in any bad way.Also the manufacturer says that it requires a contact time of 10 minutes to work, but since the COVID-19 virus is kind of a wuss virus when it comes to how weak it is against common disinfectants, including even simple things like soapy water, I normally just leave it on for about 3 minutes and then rinse/wipe off. That 10 minutes guideline is for like when they are using this product to disinfect a chicken processing plant or something. I doubt it is necessary for such an extended contact time, especially on surfaces that are already relatively clean and free of grease and grime.Remember, this is not a cleaner, this is a disinfectant. So you use this on already clean surfaces that you may think need disinfection. So don't use this as your primary cleaning compound.That's it. Good luck. Stay safe. Wash your hands and wear a mask.

Bought this prior to COVID, because I thought it might be in short supply. Very easy to use: one tablet per gallon of water. No odor, no staining and I like the blue hue it makes the water because it's easily identifiable. I've seen restaurants use this in a spray bottle to wipe down tables. Also inexpensive. Most literature says it does take a few minutes of soaking to work, but that stands to reason.

I purchased this to bring to a hotel with a jacuzzi. I used this and a few other products. It took me an hour and a 4 refills of water and other chemicals to clean the inside jets and outside interior of the tube. The combo of items worked so good to truly sanitize the tube and I saw so much orange scum come out. The list is below.(1. This stuff is great. I originally purchased it to clean bottles used for homemade Kefir but have since had a baby and it works wonders for baby bottles. I soak all bottles and parts in hot water with Dawn, then following with a quick soak in water with the Steramine, and one last soak in plain water to rinse. Alternately I could let them air dry but I like to rush the process along. It's a great sanitizer and I love not having to use bleach or the dishwasher every time. I just have a giant mixing bowl I keep in my sink. Works wonders. It's also been great when traveling as I can bring a few tabs and use a hotel sink to clean my bottles. I finally used the whole bottle (it lasts a long time!) and am back to order more.

Seems to work well for sanitizing and with the blue coloring it is easy to get a rough idea of what concentration you're working with. However, mine also arrived somewhat disheveled in the packaging with the lid off and the tablets spilled about. Got a nice waft of tablet powder as I tried to clean it up, which has not yet killed me but was certainly not enjoyable. Also seems like a pretty good deal when it comes to price, compared to using iodine for a homebrew setup (one bottle of tablets sanitizes 75-150 gallons depending on the concentration you use). Works quickly too, in just a minute or two, according to the bottle. Just not sure exactly how dry everything needs to be in order to be safe to use once it has been sanitized...

I've had these Nalgene water bottles that I used and did not have time to wash. They sat around for quite some time until they got pretty awful inside. I took one to work, cleaned it out as best I could with soap and water, a brush and some paper towels - then I filled the inside with piping hot water and a couple of these tabs. Later that day I washed and rinsed it really well and off the bat I noticed that there was no smell on the inside of the bottle. I've been drinking out of it and didn't taste anything funny nor have I gotten sick. Single person with three jobs does not have time to strain myself over dishes every day. I probably used too many of the tabs but they were easy to use and aces if you don't have a dishwasher to take care of all your dishes on a daily basis. Cleaned the bottle and the brush and didn't burn out my skin.
