Boss IndustrialCW-D2 4-Way Cross Wedge

I have a PowerHorse duel action splitter and this wedge slipped on no problem. I am very pleased with this 4 way wedge.

GO to boss splitter web site for dimensions. my splitter needed to have side flares on wedge removed to get back to original straight wedge. Once straight wedge was obtained the 4 way slipped on perfectly. Have split 5 cords and works perfectly.boss wedges are tough and much cheaper than other manufactures 4 ways.

I modified my Harbor Freight 20 ton log splitter by cutting off a 1/4” on each side of its original blade to make this fit. I saw this on a YouTube video.Works fantastic!Now I can split into 4 pieces in less than half the time.

Use this on my wood splitter and it reduces my splitting time in half. Very quickly makes one piece into 4. Works good, cannot complain.

Works great for a machine that is powerful enough. My 16T BOSS electric is adequate for 20"+ Doug Fir/Larch. I noted that some say that this thing jams wood down and is hard to get undone and get wood out of the splitter.Two issues here: 1) Do not use it upside down or the lower pieces will jam! 2) If you use it on a non-BOSS machine where you had to file the machine's splitting head width down to get it to fit (I did not have to do this on my 16T Boss) ... Then make sure this head has lots of clearance so the splitting head can slid up and down to relieve pressure so it does not jam. Mine has a good 1/16"+ inch clearance where it slides down on the machine's splitting head, so it does not JAM.With a machine like my two-way BOSS (splits forward and backing up both ways) and this 4-way splitting head... I can split alot of wood FAST. NICE.
