I started buying these earring backs a few years ago after I lost an earring from an irreplaceable set and vowed to stop wearing earrings until I could guarantee they were protected. I actually don’t own every color - just three sets. I have one set without plastic discs that are permanently paired with a pair of diamond studs that I wear in the second and third holes of my left ear. One of the remaining sets has plastic discs the other does not. I rotate those two sets between whatever other earrings I wear (the set with the plastic discs gets pairs with studs, the others with loop-through dangly earrings). I’m not really sure why these don’t have more buyers and ratings. They work exactly as they should. I dropped one back down the sink tonight (thank god it wasn’t an earring!) and immediately jumped onto Amazon to order another set. Haven’t lost an earring in years, not gonna break that record now.

Perfect, my wife loves them. She got 3 carat earrings for Christmas and the backs were flimsy at best. Swapped them out with the Chrysmela and they are very secure. Also helps the earring sit better and stay put in ear.

Very disappointing to spend so much money and have the plastic discs break within a few months. I only remove my diamond stud earrings every couple weeks, so I don't feel like they were overused/misused. The backs are still secure, but since my earrings are heavy, I really liked the idea of the discs holding up the earrings so they don't droop. Well, now they droop. :(

I bought these earring backs after my face mask ear loop caught on a traditional friction earring back and pulled it off. After that, I was hesitant to wear some of my more expensive earrings. Since I also have some heavy earrings, I also decided to purchase a version with the lifter. I've been using these earring backs for about 4 months. The definitely stay on. I haven't had any problems with them fitting my earrings.To remove the back, you have to use your fingernail to lift a small lip on the earring back. This requires fine hand motion and may be difficult for someone with limited manual dexterity. The lifter portion of the earring back works well, including with some very heavy earrings.I am really happy with these and recently ordered the same style in the other 2 colors. They are rather pricy, so I decided not to purchase a set for each pair of earrings.

These are a must have for expensive earrings! I lost one of my expensive earrings and was sick about it. I don’t know why manufacturers don’t always have screw on backs when gold, diamonds and gemstones are involved! I ended up finding my earring several months later and I immediately bought these backs before I even dared to put them back on. Life changing is an understatement. I no longer worry about losing an expensive earring. Buy them, you won’t be sorry!
