Nice model, great for train layout
Very nice level of detail with this model, adds some realism to train layout.

Nice house
It could probably use better instructions, however I was able to manage with what was given and I'm not a very experienced modeler. It was a lot of fun to put together and the details are great! I will definitely get more houses.I seemed to have misplaced one of the shutters!Split-Level House

A nice kit
I am building it now..parts fit together well but you do need to trim the nubbies from the casting. Instructions are minimal but then there are not a lot of parts to put together. It doesn't address the problems of wiring the tracks after installation, nor does it address lighting...what I did was drill a small hole at the rear of the track slot and attach a rail joiner with a pigtail to each rail, then run the wires through the hole. Next, a track bumper will be added (not in the kit) to the end of the track. One thing, when using CA to stick the rail (minus rail ties) into the cast slot, make sure to 'rough' up the bottom...CA doesn't really like smooth metal much. Lighting has not been addressed yet.Update: when doing the doors, the instructions tell you to put the lintels in first and then the doors..I would suggest, after doing it their way, that the doors should be put into the lintels BEFORE gluing them to the building.. I did it their way and all 6 doors fell out...so now I'm back to putting a piece of plastic on the rear of the hinge area, putting in the doors, and then another small strip of plastic on the front to hold them in...OR, you could just glue them in place...UPDATE: I gave up and just glued the doors in the open position...at this point I don't for see a lot of opening/closing in my engine facility... :0)

One Hour project
As usual, Walthers did a great job of making a realistic and workable kit of a nice Victorian house. Quite pleased with the results. All done in just over an hour.

I need to repaint the BLUE roof & building corners. Has interesting window covers and LED light
The house is perfect for a rural scene where house could have been part of a farm scene. Compact building that should fit in a transition or older neighborhood area. Mine came with a window modification that allows the rooms to light up in depth and an LED light for the window, which means I also have to paint the interior a light blocking colour on the interior walls. My only difficulity is the blue trim on corners and roof edges of the house which I will paint out before assembly

Nice kit
I don't have a model train layout, but I do like building models, so I thought I would give this a try. I have only started and so far I am very impressed with the quality of the kit. Even though this is a snap kit, I am using some glue to make sure it stays together. Nice having the plastic molded in three colors and providing the option of putting a paper window treatment in the windows. This is really a starter, easier kit for the novice. That is why I went with this house. It does include a light kit, which I am not sure I will use, but it is nice having the option. I may do a little bit of painting here and there and some weathering to make it even look better. So far this has been an enjoyable way to pass the time....

Buyer beware! Read for honest review.
First impression:Came in an opened box ???? Like it had been returned and resold. Was worried peices were missing, but actually I ended up with extra peices that had no place or reason for being in the box?Assembly:Easy to assemble the main house. Everything snapped together nicely. However, the front porch falls apart if you just breathe in its direction. The chimney (In photo above) does not snap in and leaves a huge gap. The holes for it were not drilled properly. I will have to redo the holes, and super glue the porch. Not happy about that. The chimney did not even match the roof color.Quality:Cheap plastic, and poorly painted. I will have to sand the edges and paint the whole thing. Feels like it could break very easily.Added bonuses:It comes with a cool lighting system that you can add to the windows.Whalters is suppose to be a pretty popular company for models, but I was honestly sent junk. I will give them another try with a different model soon, but right now this is awful. I am borderline about to return it if a few modifications can't fix this mess they charge outrageous prices for. I am sure there are better companies to throw my money at. Or just make my own.
