I had to buy the autel ap200 tool for $70 to program it for my 2000 Eldorado. Or you could pay a shop that much to do it. Now i can use the ap200 to service my GM vehicles. both are a great value.

Once we got this, it said it had to be programmed at a dealership for a Cadillac. Junk. Didn’t even bother to send it back.

Unless you have the more expensive GM type Code Reader you cannot program this for a Cadillac as your only remote. Dealers & locksmiths will cost you from $45 to $75 to code it for you.

Very easy to swap parts.

This remote seems to be a good quality product, however, the listing stating it works with 98-00 DeVille is false. I had thought maybe I was doing something incorrect, so I took it to the dealer to have it programmed, and they said it couldn't be done; the remote is simply incompatible to the car.For some, it may work, but for me, it did not. I returned it with no hassle.

I ordered this replacement FOB for my 1999 Cadillac Eldorado. The add states that the fob is user programmable. I received the FOB with a website listing to select my make and model of car to get the step by step programming instructions. The message from the website is as follows:"THIS REMOTE/KEY CAN ONLY BE PROGRAMMED USING SPECIAL EQUIPMENT BY THE DEALER OR QUALIFIED LOCKSMITH."Have to pay a locksmith an additional $70 to come program the fob to the car. Very misleading advertising.

Does not work, even the main board on it differs from my original.

I was given the impression when I ordered it I would be able to program it myself. This was not the case and had to take it to a GM dealer. I cost me $40.00 to have this done.
