Osprey Hydraulics Bite Valve Replacement

I’ve had various bite valves from different companies. Osprey produces very high quality and dependable products—this is not exception.I bought this angled style instead of the 90° elbow type for 2 reasons:1) elbow types leak. They can come apart pretty easily, creating a pond in your gear. Not to say they aren’t useful. I use all three types for different things. On my motorcycle, I don’t have the ability to react quickly if I sprout a leak. A recent First World catastrophe from a failed elbow valve left me soaked.2) I’m currently looking for a solution with my full-face motorcycle helmet. The elbow types (w/shutoff) are larger and are very hard to wedge under the chin of my Shoei RF-1200. This angled head seems slightly easier. I’ve only tried it for1 ride but the first impression was decent. The valve itself works perfectly; my use is helmet-specific.So far, no leaks. Looks and feels very well made.Would buy again. Once more, Osprey products have exceeded my expectations.

I bought an inexpensive little camo pack from a local store recently for carrying some hunting supplies during deer season. I was pleased to find that it came with a hydration bladder, but I thought I was going to collapse my sinuses trying to suck a teaspoon of water out of the bite valve that came with it. Osprey to the rescue! This valve was inexpensive, well designed... and it just WORKS! Very easy to draw water from the bladder, and it's angled too, whereas the original was straight. I'm going to buy another for my Camelbak pack I use for cycling - it's way better than that bite valve, too.

Not sure why I never thought about replacing these valves until I lost one. My platypus hydration pack had one that was hard to open with gloves on and the bite piece eventually broke after 2 seasons. I was shopping for a new pack when I found this valve that fit perfectly and is easy to use ( no leaks!) A much cheaper and environmentally friendly option.

That valve is easy to install. I love my spry hydration system. It is so easy to clean. HOWEVER the valves are no good. I have had two defective ones. My last one was ordered 5/31/22 was defective the first time I used it. I contacted osprey and they are sending me a new valve. I appreciate that they honor the warranty. Gave it a 4 because of the valve issue.

I bought this to build my own on-bike hydration system. Since nowhere I could find any description of the size tubing it requires. I guessed. I used 1/4 inch ID which it really too small. But, what I got is pretty thin walled and could stretch enough to fit. Anyway, it all worked perfect.

So glad they make replacement bits. I tend to bite through the rubber after a year or two and it starts leaking. It's easy to put on and works great!

Title says it all. Purchased this to replace the moldy mouth piece on my son’s 2.0 L water bladder. The old piece came right off with a gentle pull, and the new one fit on with no effort. The suction is the same as the old one, taste fine, and locking/unlocking mechanism still works. Much cheaper solution than replacing the entire bladder.

This item is from Osprey and it will last a long time - I’m hoping three years as did our original and identical bite valve.BTW, I’m no expert but from what I’ve seen, the Osprey bite valve system just seems to be a better design than most of the rest. The magnetic clip attachment is very useful while cycling. The silicone bite valve is very easy to use and I use it while cycling.

No le doy 5 estrellas porque el cierre que lleva esta super durísimo y cuesta una barbaridad girarlo, pero una vez abierto como cualquier boquilla, morder y sale el agua.El acople que una la boquilla con la manguera de agua es un poco fino (tubo de una bolsa de hidratación USWE). Pero con poner una brida pequeña de las finas no fuga ni nada y te hace el apaño.

Works very nice and a good replacement for other waterbags the Ospreys:s to. A bit pricy though...
