Overpriced
I think the idea behind this balls is great for a skill/drill to help with following through with the swing. However, they are basically just a ball with sand and or at least a pretty close comparison to a ball with sand in it. I think there are many more options that would accomplish the same thing at a better price point.

If you want an expert opinion on this product... READ THIS REVIEW!
This product is one of the staples of our championship travel softball team.I personally have been using these TCB "heavy balls" as we call it for over 3 years now.Nobody in South Florida even knew about this product until they starting seeing us use it prior to live game events years ago.It is still our routine ritual to use them during our hitting station warmups. We believe this product is one of the reasons our team has been so successful.I have personally been under-hand pitching these balls to our team for years now and its great watching our players getting better and stronger over the years of use with this item. I used to stand 5-7 feet in front of our girls pitching in front, but now that they are older and stronger, I have to back up to about 10-12 feet when I toss these heavy balls at them. The biggest advantage of this product is the limited area you can use to work with them. When visiting new ball fields to play tournaments, showcases, etc., you are always limited in work area to get your players ready for a game. With this product, you can take a very small 10'w x10'l area for young players, and approx. 15'w x 20'l area for older HS ball players and have them swing away without concern of hurting passing visitors, damaging cars in a parking lot, or hitting a ball accidentally into a ball field that is being actively played on.The TCB ball is also a great indicator of what your ball player is doing wrong too. The ball does mis-shape if you don't hit it just right. These are signs of a player typically getting under the ball. One final mention... most of our team has very high-end $300+ composite softball bats. I have never seen these TCB balls damage any of the players bat, and our travel girls can hit a regular softball very hard (out of the park HARD).Pros:- Durable product that will last a few seasons with a whole team using the product 2-3 times a week.- Allows a player or team to get their batting reps in before a live game with limited work area- Coach can visually see batting flaws by watching the player swing versus concern of getting out of the way of the ball.- Front Toss is a huge PLUS! After all, this is how a player sees a ball coming at them in real games.- Strengthens player wrists at point of contact... forcing player to hit through and drive the ball.Cons:- Could be cheaper, but something this innovative and convenient is worth it.- They are heavy (especially carrying a dozen of these around)! But this is something to be expected.I am not spokesman for this product... just a coach and softball Dad with a lot of experience using this product.

Hold up well
I have bought a set of these years ago and have lost a few so that is the only reason I bought them again. They have held up with no problems, rips, tears, or sand leakage. It's that old saying "you get what you pay for", and I have got my money's worth as I am still using my original 8 of 12(due to losing 4).

The good thing about them also is that even with the ...
I bought these for my daughter who plays 10U softball and they incredibly improved her swings and her overall hitting. The weighted balls teach kids that they need to follow through on each swing and at the same time, swing hard. If one does not follow through and swing hard, the ball goes no where. The good thing about them also is that even with the right contact, the balls only travel the most about 5-10 feet; I use these in my driveway warming her up before games and let me tell you, she hits a ton during the games. I would highly recommend them to parents as they are safe to use around your home and really develop kids swings and eye coordination. Now the bad - cost!! They charge quite a bit for these ball, there are competitors out there that are cheaper but don't know much about them. I bought 6 of them and they seem to be holding up well. I use them about 3-4x per week

An absolute game changer
This product is a game changer. I am not a gadget guy, especially as it relates to sports. But honestly, this product is different. First, I pitch to my son in the garage when it's dark or rainy and the ball goes 6-20 ft. If it hits something, it does no damage. Second, the unique composition of the ball has two direct and immediate benefits. a) It forces the hitter to hit the center of the ball without cutting or rolling, otherwise the ball goes literally nowhere, making the mistake immediately evident. b) It is heavy, thus building power and forcing proper timing. The best part is that, as a father, I don't have to critique my son's swing when we use these balls. The result of each swing speaks for itself and the ball has taught him the lessons I've wasted countless breaths trying to teach. Now I just pitch and let him draw conclusions. Amazing, considering he's 9.Seriously, bite the bullet and spend the money. $120 on these balls will yield better results than $350 on some fancy new bat.

Terrific for Hitting Training
I had heard about these balls. Then when coaching at a baseball tournament I saw another team hitting them in warm ups. I approached the coaches when they got done. They gave a very enthusiastic endorsement and I decided to order a dozen for my team. They are soft rubber, slightly larger than a regular baseball, and filled with sand. Players really need to square them up and drive through contact to get them to go anywhere. When they do, the balls make a satisfying click but don't travel too far. With an off-center hit they just kind of wobble or go into the ground. It's one thing to say, "drive through the ball," but these balls provide the immediate, physical feedback that hitters need to understand how to actually do that. They also can be used in a smaller space or indoors. Our players also love to hit them. The results have translated to success in games.Sam Spofforth (E. Hubbard's Husband)

Get some!
Great idea. Bought 6. Spendy but we're liking them. Hard to believe they don't break the bat. 11 year old son and 10 year old daughter using them. Doesnt hurt their wrists. Can see how its helpful/important to build wrist strength and help center contact. We use them after whiffle balls, and before using real balls. Get some!
