This product is small and lightweight. Came with a 9V battery although no digging tool. But, like all metal detectors, it proved very difficult to use indoors. Houses are filled with metal. So they alert all the time. Did not help me find some misplaced coins.Also, I don’t think it would be very useful for it’s stated purpose - pinpointing the location of a small item located in a large plug of dirt. Its range is extremely short. I tested it on an old Washington silver quarter, and did not alert until it was about an inch (maybe 1.5 inches at most) away from the quarter.Was not expensive and might serve your purpose as a pinpointer, but don’t count on it to pinpoint silver coins from more than 2” away. And that is with no dirt covering the coin.Haven’t tried to return an item to Amazon before. This will be my first attempt. 😕

I use the pin pointer for what it is, to pin point finds. The battery chamber top dose not fit well. Other then that it is a fare price and for what it is built well.

This metal detector helps to narrow down some of my searches. It has been spot on. Has limited depth of about one inch but it can be pushed down into soft ground. Great value for the price and no difference from the over $100 one.
